Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Soon after winning the big pot to bust Petru Tarlev, Alberto Diaz went heads-up to the turn against Francisco Salvador with the board showing 5695. Diaz then bet 10,000 from the small blind, and Salvador called in middle position.

The river was the A and Diaz bet another 10,000. Salvador again called.

"You win," Diaz said as he mucked, and Salvador turned over QQ while taking in the pot.

Diaz Stuns Tarlev on the River

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Alberto Diaz

Petru Tarlev and Alberto Diaz went to the turn on a board of 5869 when Diaz bet 10,000 from the button. Tarlev then raised to 30,000 in the small blind, and Diaz moved all in. Tarlev quickly called.

Diaz showed 66 for a set, but Tarlev had a straight with 73. The river, though, brought the 9 to improve Diaz to a full house.

The stacks were counted down, and Diaz had Tarlev's remaining 55,000 narrowly covered to earn him the knockout. Diaz pretended to wipe the sweat off his brow and put his hands atop his head in disbelief while the pot was pushed to him.
