Hao's Aggression Earns Him the Pot

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Liu Hao opened to 16,000 in early position and David Vie three-bet to 45,000 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Hao who stuck in a four-bet to 130,000. Vie called and the dealer fanned the flop of {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

Hao counted out a bet of 125,000 and that was enough to get Vie to muck his cards.

"Jacks? Queens?" Hao questioned Vie. "I didn't like that flop either."

Sousa Instigates a Heated Argument, Kettunen Scoops the Pot

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Mario Sousa
Mario Sousa

A huge commotion broke out at Table 75 amidst a massive three-way all in pot. Mario Sousa was the loudest player at the table, rambling off in Spanish which was later translated. As relayed, there were already two players all in and Sousa had a decision to make but began speaking Portuguese with another player at the table which is not allowed. Sousa ended up folding ace-king face up with action pending which brought on the heated argument.

Eventually, the dust settle and the hand played out. Julius Kettunen was one of the players at risk for 114,000 with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and was up against the big stack who had {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and the short stack who held {9-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The flop came {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Spades} and the short stack flopped a flush to take a big lead. However, the {10-Diamonds} and {a-Diamonds} runout gave Kettunen a full house and he more than tripled his stack.

Ian Simpson

Ian Simpson raised to 20,000 on the button and Gonzalo Renau defended from the big blind. The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Renau check-called a bet of 18,000 from Simpson.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {5-Clubs} on the river. Renau checked for the third time and Simpson counted out a bet of 45,000. Renau looked him and Simpson tabled {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the best hand.

Clement and Navas Battle in the Blinds

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The action folded around to Manuel Clement who just limped in from the small blind. Rafael Navas was in the big blind with around 152,000 chips and shoved all in. Clement swiftly called and the cards were on their backs.

Rafael Navas: {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Manuel Clement: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}

The flop came {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Navas was still in the lead with a pair of fives. However, the {k-Clubs} on the turn put Clement out front and the {j-Hearts} on the river changed nothing.

Bardon Can't Catch a Flush

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Manuel Bardon limped in from the small blind and the big blind raised to 32,000. Bardon eyed up his opponent's stack and just called to see a flop of {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Bardon checked to his opponent who bet 25,000 and Bardon ripped all in, putting his opponent to the test for his stack of 112,000. After quickly making the call, the cards were face up.

Big Blind: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Manuel Bardon: {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Bardon needed to hit a flush and a flush only in order to scoop the pot. The {j-Diamonds} and {2-Diamonds} were both red but not the right suit for Bardon who sent over a double.

Clement Gets Caught Bluffing

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

David Vie raised it up to 25,000 in the cutoff and was called by Manuel Clement on the button and Mario Relis in the big blind. The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and the action checked around to the {j-Diamonds} on the turn.

Relis led out with a bet of 50,000 on the turn which got Vie to fold but Clement stuck around to see the {7-Spades} on the river. Relis checked this time and Clement splashed in a bet of 75,000. Relis quickly called and Clement tabled {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a missed flush draw. Relis turned over {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair to win the pot.
