$888 Mystery Bounty Main Event
Day 2 Completed
A brief Day 2 in Event #41: $888 Mystery Bounty Main Event at the 888poker 2024 XL Spring Series saw 178 hopefuls slimmed down to the final table of eight. Lithuania's "R3li_able" sits in pole position heading into Day 3 with 2,830,854, a deep stack worth 81 big blinds. They did not manage to put much daylight between themselves and the rest of the field, however, with "3AHYDA" securing 2,591,085 during the day's play while "1goodshot" of Sweden also bagged big with 1,977,380.
All of the remaining players have secured at least a five-figure payday, though the eight-place payout of $10,452 pales in comparison to the $83,406 sitting up top. While one of the finalists will take home that large sum, the biggest single payout of the tournament came early in Day 2, when "r4ndomr4gs" pulled the top $100,000 bounty after seeing their pocket queens hold up in a three-way all in. They later fell in 45th place to bring their total payday to $101,670.

With late registration closing at the start of the day, the total number of entries across the various Day 1 flights was confirmed at 1,225 to generate a prize pool of $1,038,900, surpassing a lofty seven-figure guarantee. Of that total, $538,800 was set aside for the regular prize pool to be split amongst the top 144 finishers, each of whom would walk away with a minimum of $1,347. It did not take long for the bubble to burst after Ukraine's "Kostya_jock"was eliminated in 145th place.
Play at the final table resumes at 7:00 p.m. BST, May 28th, and will continue until a winner is crowned. Blinds resume in Level 35 at 17,500/35,0000, increasing every 15 minutes.

Level 29: 5,000/10,000
"RyckAA" opened to 20,000 from middle position and then called off for their remaining 162,646 after "sheeeeeeeeeet" moved all in from the big blind.
"RyckAA": A♠A♦
"sheeeeeeeeet": Q♣10♣
The at risk player had picked up pocket rockets to put themselves in a great position to double up. That is exactly what happened after the board ran out 8♠4♣2♥3♠3♣ to leave "sheeeeeeeeeet" with just a handful of big blinds.
