Hampson Takes from Dianaty

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player in early position limped and Anthony Dianaty raised to 2,400 from the cutoff. Sean Hampson came along from the small blind, the limper called, and it was three-way action to a {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop.

Hampson led out for 3,800, the limper folded, and Dianaty called to see the {7-Diamonds} turn. Both players checked and the {J-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Hampson bet again, this time 5,500, and Dianaty quickly called. Hampson rolled over the {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for two pair and Dianaty sent his hand to the muck.

Let's Have a Break

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Level 8 has come and gone. That means it's time for another 10-minute break. Late registration and reentry will come to a close at the start of Level 9. That said, the Day 1e flight, the fifth and final starting flight, is slated to start at 6 p.m. local time so players will have another opportunity to play tonight if need be.

Registration Closes on Day 1d

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Level 9 is underway and that means late registration and reentries have come to a close on Day 1d. The flight attracted 109 runners (the biggest of the first four flights), and along with the 262 entrants from the first three flights brings the total field up to 371 entries.

That number will grow as Day 1e, the fifth and final flight, kicks off in 30 minutes.

Oskarsson Over Six Figures

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The player in the hijack opened for 3,500 and Leif Oskarsson called from the small blind. The{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop saw Okarsson lead out for 3,500, his opponent called, and the {J-Spades} appeared on the turn.

Both players checked and then action repeated itself on the {10-Spades} river. The hijack showed the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for nut no pair, but Okarsson had a pair with his {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Butler Rebuilding

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

After an early-position player limped, Don Butler raised to 3,000 from the lojack. Action folded back to the limper and he called to see a {2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop.

The limper checked and then promptly folded when Butler moved all in for his last 6,100.

Butler then showed the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

"Again?" someone at the table asked.

Diamonds are Buckley's Best Friend

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Pat Buckley
Pat Buckley

Six players limped preflop and five of them checked the {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, including Pat Buckley in the big blind.

The last player to act then bet 2,500 from the hijack, the small blind folded, and Buckley check-raised to 7,000. Three more folds saw the hijack call and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Diamonds}.

Buckley led out for 9,000 and called when the hijack min-raised him to 18,000. When the {Q-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Buckley moved all in for 30,000 and the hijack called.

Buckley tabled the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for trip fours that turned into a flush, and it was good as his opponent mucked his cards.
