Valdez Gets Aggressive

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Amir Lehavot opened to 2,200 in early position, Terry Simpson called in the cutoff, and David Valdez three-bet to 7,100 on the small blind. Lehavot folded and Simpson thought it over for awhile before making the call.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}, and Valdez kept the aggression going with a 10,000 bet. Simpson asked for a count on Valdez' remaining chips, but eventually decided on a fold.

A player on the hijack opened, Samuel Cosby raised to 3,300 and the hijack opponent called.

The flop came {j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{a-Clubs}, the hijack checked, and Cosby bet 2,500 and got the call. Both players checked the {10-Clubs} turn, and the hijack check-called a 5,000 bet from Cosby on the {10-Spades} river.

Cosby showed down {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and his top pair was good.

Wheeler Doubles Up

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Terry Wheeler and Robert Angeleri got into a raise and reraise battle on the flop, with the board showing {4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Wheeler, in the cutoff, and Angeleri, on the button, went back and forth until Wheeler was all in for his remaining stack. Wheeler ended up taking down the pot with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, and at the time the loss left Angeleri with 20,000 chips.

Shortly thereafter, however, Angeleri got right back in the mix and took down a big pot to get back to nearly 50k in chips.

Toko Luu brought in a pot of more than 40,000 chips, adding to his already impressive stack.

Luu went to the flop with two opponents and the pot already over 20,000 preflop. The flop came out {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}, and the action checked to Luu, who bet 10,000. A player in early position called, while the cutoff folded.

Both remaining players checked down on both the turn {3-Hearts} and river {4-Spades}, and Luu showed down {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, good for the win.

Cosby Flushes Out Lewis

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Samuel Cosby

Edward Lewis bet 3,300 from under the gun on a flop of {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. The player to Lewis' direct left folded, and Samuel Cosby made the call on from middle position.

The turn came the {6-Clubs}, Lewis quickly put out a bet for 13,000, and Cosby called again.

The {q-Hearts} fell on the river, Lewis went all in and Cosby snap called. It was bad news for Lewis, who showed {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for the king-high flush, but saw it was no good against Cosby's {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the superior ace-high flush.

When the chips were sorted out in the aftermath, Lewis went to the rail and Cosby chipped up to one of the biggest stacks in the room as Level 6 plays on.
