Cosby Comes Up Big

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

With a player on the button already all in preflop, Samuel Cosby and Edward Lewis proceeded to a flop of {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. Cosby put in a bet for 3,500 from the small blind, and Lewis made the call from the hijack.

Cosby checked on the {4-Clubs} turn, and Lewis bet 6,000, which Cosby called.

Both players checked through the river {5-Clubs}, and Cosby showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Lewis mucked, and the all-in player turned over {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, giving Cosby the pot.

Rolando Barron

While the Ante Up World Championship $1,650 Main Event is the premier tournament on the schedule, it’s far from the only one. In fact, the tour has been at Thunder Valley since early July hosting a slew of side events.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team wasn’t on hand to capture the action from those events, but we still wanted to offer fans a brief look at all those who’ve captured titles during the Ante Up World Championship.

For example, Event #21: $160 NLH Knockout had 77 entrants compete for a $10,010 prize pool, which included bounties. The tournament ended in a four-way deal that saw Rolando Barron crowned champ for $1,277.

Buonchristiani Gets Bold, Dikkala Folds

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

With the board showing {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Aaron Buoncristiani put in a bet for 8,700 from under the gun, nearly a quarter of the 40,000 starting stack.

The bet swelled an already large pot, and Kavi Dikkala thought it over for awhile from the big blind before eventually folding.

Simpson's Call is Correct

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Terry Simpson, in early position, bet 1,600 on the river with the board showing {6-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Stephen Kujubu raised to 4,300 from the button, and Simpson went into the tank for a few moments.

Simspon eventually made the call, and Kujubu mucked when Simpson turned over {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for top pair.
