Ante Up Magazine has been a mainstay in the poker world for over a decade. The monthly publication, which is distributed to cardrooms around the country, keep poker fans and players updated not only on the biggest stories happening in poker but also on what's happening in different regions throughout the United States.

With dozens of "Ambassadors" devoted to individual states, the Ante Up team ensures they're covering everything from the ground up. This includes profiles covering "the little guys" such as recreational players, dealers, and poker room staff from venues big and small.

Round it out with strategy articles, event previews/recaps, and feature pieces, and you really have a complete poker magazine that caters to everyone.

You can read the July issue for free online here. Also look for print copies at your local cardroom.

Ferketa Takes it Down on the Turn

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Daniel Ferketa
Daniel Ferketa

Daniel Ferketa and Edward Miller got into a battle of raises with bother players in early positions. Ferketa had 2,400 in the pot preflop, Miller raised to 7,600, and Ferketa thought it over for awhile before making the call.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and both players checked.

Ferketa bet 15,000 on the {2-Hearts}, and Miller went into the take for a couple of minutes before making the fold.

Na Vue Wins Event #15: $180 Win Place Show Take the Dough

While the Ante Up World Championship $1,650 Main Event is the premier tournament on the schedule, it’s far from the only one. In fact, the tour has been at Thunder Valley since early July hosting a slew of side events.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team wasn’t on hand to capture the action from those events, but we still wanted to offer fans a brief look at all those who’ve captured titles during the Ante Up World Championship.

For example, Event #15: $180 Win Place Show Take the Dough No-Limit Hold’em had 29 entries and awarded a $4,800 prize pool, minus bounties, to the top three players including Cameron Bowman (3rd - $420), Mike McDonough (2nd - $630), and Na Vue (1st - $1,050).

Duckworth Does It Again

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

John Duckworth has one of the bigger stacks in the room as Level 3 plays on, and he just added to that total in a heads-up pot against Patricia Dellow.

With the board reading {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, Duckworth put out a bet for 12,000 from middle position. Dellow called from the cutoff, and Duckworth showed down {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} to take down the pot.
