Mariakis Chipping Up Nicely
Michael Mariakis has had a good start to the day, seeing his chip stack near 30,000 during these early stages of Day 1b. We recently watched Mariakis and Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen rumble in a hand that began with Mariakis limping the button after the action folded to him.
Guillen was in the big blind in the hand in question and checked after the small blind got out of the way. On the 
flop, Guillen led for 200 and Mariakis called. The 
turn would see Guillen lead for 500 and Mariakis raise it up to 1,450. Guillen made the call and then opted to check the 
river.
Mariakis thought for quite some time on the river, eventually opting to check behind with his 
- a turned straight. Guillen let his hand go and Mariakis raked in the handy pot.
