Seyed Hosseininasab Doubles Opponent

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Seyed Hosseininasab raised to 3,600 from middle position and was called by Charles Caris on the button as well as the player in the big blind.

The flop came down {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} prompting the big blind to move all in for 15,900 in chips. Hosseininasab snap called forcing Caris to muck his hand.

Hosseininasab: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

It looked like Hosseininasab would be adding to his stack after flopping top pair until the {6-Diamonds} dropped on the turn. Hosseininasab's opponent had spiked a set and would take down the pot after the {j-Hearts} completed the board.

Khorramshahi: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} to see Cristallo hold with the higher kicker resulting in Khorramshahi being eliminated from the tournament.

Tony Hachem's Good Start

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Tony Hachem has moved up to 64,000 in chips following a big hand.

Hachem committed all his chips in pre flop holding pocket queens and was up against his opponents {a-}{k-}.

He was able to fade high cards as he moved up the leader board.

Unfortunately not the same can be said for Tony's brother Joe. The 2005 WSOP main event champion started the day as one of the short stacks, but was unable to get anything going, falling early in today's proceedings.

Big Stacks Clash

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Mark Schmelcher raised to 2,000 from early position and was called by Graham Cowan a few seats down.

The flop came down {9-}{9-}{2-} and Schmelcher threw out a continuation bet totalling 2,000. Cowan instantly raised it up to 5,000 and was snap called.

Schmelcher tossed out another 6,000 after the {q-} dropped on the turn and was faced with a min raise to 12,000 from Cowan. Again the bet was snap called before both players watched the {4-} complete the board.

This time Schmelcher opted to check prompting Cowan to fire out 15,000 in chips. Schmelcher quickly made the call and tabled {a-}{j-} for pair of nines with an ace kicker. It was good to enough to win the hand as Cowan showed his {j-}{10-} for the same pair with an inferior kicker.

Selwyn Austin Makes The Call

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On a flop reading {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} Marcial Dias checked his option from under the gun. Selwyn Austin then tossed out a bet totalling 12,600 from the cut off as the decision fell back on Dias. He then moved all in for 44,900 in chips sending Austin into the tank.

Austin counted out some chips, thought for a minute, before finally making the call.

Dias: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Austin: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

It was all over for Dias when the {a-Clubs} spiked on the turn. The meaningless {4-Spades} completed the board and Austin was left raking in a large pot as Dias was sent to the rail.

Rory Young Takes One Out

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The action folded around to Warren Taylor on the button who raised it up to 4,600 in chips. Rory Young was seated in the small blind and bumped it up to 11,000 forcing a fold from the big blind. With the decision back on Taylor, he moved all in for around 25,000, and was snap called.

Taylor: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Young: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to see Young hold with the higher pocket pair to see him rise to over 100,000 in chips.
