Botta Booted by Omer

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Omer Silajdzija has just eliminated Daniel Botta.

The final hand of Botta’s tournament saw him three-bet all in for 34,000 from the small blind after Silajdzija had opened to 5,600 from the hijack. Silajdzija made the call and it was Botta’s {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} against Silajdzija’s {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

By the time a turn had ran out on a {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} board, Silajdzija had hit a set of tens, but Botta had made a straight. Then a {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river and it was all over for Botta.

Brett Still Alive

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Brett Chalhoub started the day as one of the shorter stacks, but it is still alive and healthy with approximately 83 players remaining. Chalhoub is up to 120,000 and that's despite losing a sizable pot recently when he ran {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} into the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} of a relatively short-stacked player, all in preflop.

Huang Falls Some More, Kempson Scoops

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Bryan Huang has taken yet another hit to his stack.

We picked up the action on the {7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop. Huang was involved in the hand with two players, one being Corey Kempson. It was checked to Huang, who bet 5,800. Only Kempson would call, and with that, the dealer would flip over a {9-Hearts} on the turn. This time Huang led for 12,700 and Kempson once again made the call. The board completed with an {8-Clubs} and Huang led for 33,700. Kempson took a long time, but eventually found a call.

Huang flashed {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a bluff, and Kempson turned over his {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a rivered king-high flush.

As Kempson raked in his new chips, some of his tablemates questioned why he took so long to call on the river, was he planning on folding?

“Yeah, I was gonna call, call and then fold, GG,” Kempson sarcastically quipped.

“I was thinking about raising,” he added.

He is up to 250,000. Huang is down to 125,000.

One Table, Two Tables

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Just after Level 14 began, Crown poker TD Joel Williams took to the microphone and announced to the room, "We are now one table off the money! That means the 'first card off the deck' rule and no headphones rule are now in place."

Just moments later: "Actually, my mistake we are two tables off the money! Headphones back in!"

The top 63 players make the money, 81 remain.

Champ No More

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We have just watched 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem exit the tournament area. Hachem had been nursing a short stack for most of the day and clearly wasn't able to build a stack. It will be onto the next one for Australia's most prominent player.

Huang's Tumultuous Ride Ends

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang’s tumultuous day has come to an end!

Huang’s final hand saw him open the button to 7,000 with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Chip leader Vincent Chua then three bet to 17,000 and it was back on Huang, who moved all in for 105,000. Chua snapped it off with {a-}{a-} and with no help on the board, Huang was eliminated.

Huang was up to a high of 315,000 at one point in the day. That’s poker.

Chua is now up to 500,000.
