Brotha D Doubles

Brotha D was down to his last 4,400 in chips and got them in preflop with his opponent making the call.

Brotha D slammed {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} on the table and stood from his chair as his opponent revealed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

The flop of {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} left Brotha D in a commanding position, however the {7-Hearts} sent a murmur around the table at the thought of a potentially brutal beat. It wasn't to be as the {6-Spades} landed on the river to give the popular NZ personality a pulse once again. He's back to 9,400 chips.

Preflop, an opponent opened to 1,600 and the next player moved all in for 7,850. Action folded to Tony Dunst in the blinds who made it 30,300 commiting himself to the pot. The original raiser got out of the way and the players tabled their cards.

Dunst: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} making Dunst two pairs and shipping him the pot. He moves up to 55,000.

Brotha D Chips Up Soren Eriksen

Brotha D is doing it tough
Brotha D is doing it tough
Soren Eriksen is back to life after being horribly short-stacked. He's moved up to 35,000 in chips now after doubling through New Zealand Hip Hop artist Brotha D.

On a flop of {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} Brotha D led 3,500 and Eriksen raised to 7,000. Brotha D moved all in and Eriksen made the call for all his chips.

Eriksen: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Brotha D: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board completed {4-Hearts} turn and {q-Spades} river to double Eriksen up. Brotha D is down to just 12,000 in chips.

Scott Numoto Eliminated

Scott Numoto has been eliminated after losing a preflop race for all his chips. Numoto got his {Q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} all in against an opponent's {A-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

The {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop added to his opponent's outs and the {A-Clubs} hit to put Numoto behind. The {9-Clubs} completed the board sending Numoto out of the tournament.

Royal Tony

Tony Hachem
Tony Hachem
We arrived to the table to see a board of {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and a pot of around 15,000 chips with Tony Hachem declaring himself all in for over 20,000 chips.

His opponent gave the decision some thought but tossed his cards into the muck.

"Nooooooo!" exclaimed Hachem as he proudly flipped {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a Royal flush!

As Hachem raked in the chips and the dealer was changed, Hachem prompted a round of applause from the table for the efforts of the departing dealer, as everyone was still in awe of the Royal.

One cheeky tablemate was getting a little carried away as he added, "Wow a Royal, free drinks for the table!" Nice try.

Huntly Hunting By The River

Huntly hunting some chips

Dennis Huntly and an opponent took a {2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop heads up. His opponent checked the flop and Huntly fired out a bet of 1,500. The opponent called and they moved to the turn {9-Clubs}.

On the turn Huntly bet out 3,000 and his opponent quickly called. The {j-Spades} hit the river and once again the opponent refused to bet. Huntly nonchalantly tossed 6,000 chips out, and after going into the tank he eventually made the check-call.

Huntly rolled over {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} and his opponent mucked.

"My fault," sighed the opponent.

"You're right," said Huntly, "I didn't let you get a free card at all".

Huntly rolls up to 44,000.

Flood-Gates Opening

With a raise to 1,600 from Angela Kannofitzgerald and a call on the button, the action was with Garry Gates in the small blind who popped it to 5,000 to play. Kannofitzgerald made the call as the button stepped aside.

Gates continued to apply the pressure with a continuation bet of 6,000 on the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} flop. Kannofitzgerald quickly called as another big pot was brewing as the {J-Clubs} hit the turn.

Gates then declared himself all in, covering Kannofitzgerald who decided to release and save her last 10,000 chips. Gates motors ahead to 55,000 chips.

Hachem Setting His Stack Up

The Hach is keen to make some cash

Preflop, an opponent opened to 1,400 and Tony Hachem flat called, with another player to go to a {j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop.

On the flop the early position opponent fired out 2,500, with Hachem flat calling and the other player in the hand folding.

The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} and Hachem smooth called a 4,000 chip bet.

The river was the {9-Clubs} which saw the opponent check and Hachem make it 5,000 chips. After time in the tank the player called and tabled {K-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, not good enough to beat the {J-Clubs}{j-Hearts} set of Hachem.

Hachem moves up to 35,000.
