Jack Ng Survives All In

We held our breath when Jack Ng was all in against Batsuren Tserendorj. Even though we're officially neutral in the outcome of this event, we like good stories -- and as Ng is the father of PokerStars Team Asia Pro Bryan Huang, his success in this tournament is a good story.

Ng's {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} was up against Tserendorj's pocket tens. Ng flopped the world, {A-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}, leaving Tserendorj drawing about as thin as can be. The turn and river were both harmless blanks, giving Ng a double-up to 168,000. Tserendorj is now quite short, with about 80,000.

A Couple of Doubles

No eliminations to report, but two players have managed to ship their chips in and double them up.

Preflop, Wei Sha shoved for 70,000 and found a caller in Pontus Kers.

Sha: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Kers: {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The {A-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop was unkind to Sha, and when the {10-Clubs} hit the turn, it looked as though he was going to be eliminated. That was until the {k-Spades} hit the turn to bring him salvation and move him up to 150,000.

Jack Ng also grabbed a double up, getting his chips in with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and facing Dong-Bin Han's {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Unlike Sha, Ng never looked like facing elimination. The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to move him up to about 180,000.

James Kim Eliminated in 23rd Place ($4,600)

Assembled media quickly came scurrying from the feature table area to Table 3, where James Kim was all in at risk of elimination against Alex Tikholiz. Kim's middle pair, {K-Spades} {5-Spades}, was drawing against Tikholiz's small overpair, {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, on a board of {4-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}. Kim never improved, {A-Clubs} turn and {7-Hearts} river.

"Domoi!" shouted Tikholiz, pounding the table with each syllable. That's Russian for "Go home!" Kim, we imagine, doesn't speak Russian and therefore had no reply for Tikholiz. Either way, he's busto.

Mike Gaernter Eliminated in 24th Place ($4,600)

Preflop Rody Kaka opened from the cutoff to 25,000 and Mike Gaernter moved all in from the small blind for 65,000. Action folded back to Kaka who made the call with his {K-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Gaernter had {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and would require some assistance to stay alive in the tournament.

It wouldn't arrive the board ran out {A-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Spades}.

Fan Blows Some Chips Away

Terry Fan
Terry Fan
Terry Fan has relinquished some chips to Mark Pagsuyuin in interesting circumstances.

Fan opened to 18,000 and Pagsuyuin moved all in for 78,000 total. Action passed back to Fan who tanked a while before calling with {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Pagsuyuin was extremely happy with the call rolling over his own {Q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to double up Pagsuyuin.

Pagsuyuin now has 185,000, Fan is down to 170,000.

Kers Flushes to Double

Pontus Kers
Pontus Kers
Pontus Kers is back. He called a raise preflop from James Kim. Both players checked a {Q-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} flop. Kers checked again on the {2-Hearts} turn, prompting Kim to bet 50,000.

"103,000 all in," Kers then said, moving all of his chips across the betting line. Kim called and was disgusted to see Kers turn over a flush, {J-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. Kim's {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades} was drawing thin and did not fill up with the {6-Diamonds} river.

"I keep reading you wrong," Kim whinged. "You called me with jack-five?" He shook his head and motored away from the table to go on a tilt-reducing walk.

Kim is down to 100,000 in chips while Kers has climbed to 270,000.

Fan's Weak Lead Doesn't Scare Bumpas

Brian Bumpas

Pots are all massive now with blinds at 4,000 and 8,000. There were 80,000 chips in the pot preflop for a had on Table 2 contested by Brian Bumpas and Terry Fan. Bumpas checked a flop of {3-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs} to Fan, who made a roughly half-pot bet of 45,000. Bumpas quickly announced that he was all in, forcing Fan to surrender his hand.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Kaka moves up to 280,000. Somyung is down to 130,000.

Jerry Delisle's Straight Doesn't Come In

We're down to three tables after the recent elimination of Jerry Delisle. Delisle opened for 20,000 from late position and was called by small blind Allih Bansuan. Bansuan led out for 50,000 on a dry board, {9-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {6-Hearts}. Delisle responded by moving all in. After getting a count (112,000; 62,000 back) Bansuan called with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. Delisle showed a straight draw, {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts}. That draw didn't hit on the {4-Clubs} turn or the {3-Spades} river.

With Delisle's elimination, the tables are once again eight-handed.
