Inage Doubles with Aces

Ah, the short stack's dream: pocket aces. Get your chips in the middle and hope someone calls. Fuyuki Inage did just that, re-raising all in for 42,000 after Phillip Willcocks opened for 12,500. Willcocks called with pocket nines and couldn't lay a bad beat on Inage, {8-Spades}

. Inage doubled up to about 90,000.

Anna Cu Unjieng, the last lady in the field, looked good to double with {k-Spades}

virtually all in against the {8-Diamonds}

of Konstantin Tolokno.

Unjieng had Tolokno covered by just 5,000, so had she held up, she would have doubled up. A nasty {8-Spades}

flop would betray her though.

The turn {7-Hearts}

and river

blanked to double Tolokno up.

Unjieng got her 5,000 in from the big blind with {2-?}

off suit and ran into {A-?}

. An ace on the flop was all that was required to make it an all male field from here, on out.

Blumenthal Triples, Chow Busto

Ira Blumenthal's been trying to leave this tournament for two days. The thing is, every time he gets his chips in the middle he doubles up. On one of the first hands of the day, Blumenthal wound up in a three-way all in with the worst hand. His {J-Hearts}

trailed Jojo Tech's pocket tens and short-stacked Robert Chow's pocket deuces. But the board rolled out {7-Diamonds}

to give Blumenthal the straight. He dragged both the main pot and the side pot to triple up to about 90,000.

Chow was eliminated in 40th place.

It's Day 3 in Cebu Philippines. The last day before the final table. It's the day when the tournament really plays out, the day when players maneuver pre-flop for a shot at the final table and the six-figure payday that comes with first place. It promises to be an action-packed day -- assuming that everyone can shake off their hangovers from the ridiculous party at Vudu Lounge last night that was sponsored by the Metro Card Club.

When we left off at the end of Level 14 last night, the money bubble had just burst. That means 40 players will start in the field today. Dong-bin Han has the pole position and will un-bag 478,500 chips. Robert Chow is in what we like to call the "Dank Position", in dead-last place with 21,000 chips. But anything can happen!

Play gets underway in about twenty minutes, at 12:15pm local time.
