Kevin Clark Doubles Again

They just can't bring Kevin Clark down
They just can't bring Kevin Clark down
Once again Kevin Clark got his cards in behind (only mildly this time) and once again he came out a winner.

Clark got {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} all in against the {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} of Dong-Bin Han. The {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} flop put Clark out in front, and he stay there through the {7-Diamonds} turn and {7-Spades} river.

Clark moves up to 335,000.

Allih Bansuan Eliminated in 13th Place ($6,400)

Allih Bansuan probably didn't expect to encounter any resistance. In a raised pot with Sim Somyung, Bansuan had first action on a {4-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} and moved all in for more than 300,000. Somyung snap-called, having flopped the second nuts, {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs}. Bansuan had top two pair, {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts}, and found himself looking for another queen or a nine to stay alive. Instead he was stunned to hit the rail after a {6-Diamonds} turn and {A-Hearts} river.

Kevin Clark Doubles Up

Kevin Clark needed help. After moving all in, he found his {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} up against the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} of Alexandr Tikholiz.

The {7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop was just what the doctor ordered, putting Clark out in front. After surviving the {9-Clubs} turn and {k-Diamonds} river Clark doubled through to 205,000. With Tikholiz down to 365,000.

A congratulations is in order to our two Kiwis left in the field, Clark and Phillip Willcocks, with the New Zealand national football (soccer) team, qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1982, just a couple of hours ago.

Rody Kaka Eliminated in 15th Place ($6,400); Wei Sha Eliminated in 14th Place ($6,400)

Wei Sha - eliminated
Wei Sha - eliminated
Dong-bin Han is running hot! He decided to take on two different short stacks in the same hand. Han had the worst hand, {A-Spades} {J-Spades}. He was up against Sha's {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} and Kaka's {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}! Kaka had only 14,000 chips, so Sha was ahead for the side pot. But all the chips went Han's way when then board rolled out {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {K-Clubs} to give him an improbable Broadway straight and the best hand.

Because Kaka started the hand with fewer chips than Sha, he is the 15th place finisher. Sha finished in 14th place.

Kaka Crippled

Immediately after Jack Ng's elimination (and on the last hand before the two-table re-draw), Sim Somyung and Rody Kaka wound up all in. On a board of {j-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} {J-Clubs}, Kaka showed down {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} for a full house. That was no good against Somyung's {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}. Kaka was sure he had been eliminated, but when the stacks were counted down, Somyung had 270,000 and Kaka had 284,000. Kaka paid Somyung off and was left with 14,000.

Jack Ng Eliminated in 17th Place ($4,600)

Jack Ng eliminated in 17th place
Jack Ng eliminated in 17th place
Before the flop Jack Ng moved all in from early position with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} for his final 155,000 chips. It folded to Mark Pagsuyuin in the big blind who went into the tank. After about a minute and a half in the tank Kevin Clark tired of waiting and called the clock.

Before the tournament director had time to arrive Pagsuyuin made the call and tabled {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}.

A large crowd had gathered by this time and they we're rowdily cheering for their respective man. The locals rallying behind Pagsuyuin, and a good contingent for Ng.

The board ran out {6-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{j-Clubs} eliminating Ng.
