Swiebel Swivels a Double

Constantijn Swiebel limped-reraised his opponent's preflop raise of 925 to 2,200. The player then put in another raise to 5,000 and Swiebel called.

The flop came down {10-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} and Swiebel called a bet of 5,000 from his opponent.

The turn was the {K-Spades} and Swiebel moved all in for 5,075. The player made the call with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. Swiebel held {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}.

The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds}, doubling Swiebel up to 47,000.

Day 1a Entrants

The tournament clock reads 80 for the amount of players entered in the Day 1a flight here in Sydney. That number is expected to pick up for flights Day 1b and 1c. There's also plenty of satellites running in the poker room that will help to add to those days as well..

Peter Aristidou
Peter Aristidou
Peter Aristidou and an opponent got all in on the flop of {Q-Spades} {5-Clubs} {4-Clubs}. Aristidou held {7-Clubs} {6-Clubs} for a massive draw against the other player's {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. Aristidou was the player at risk.

The turn was the {3-Clubs}, completing a straight flush for Aristidou and leaving his opponent drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {Q-Clubs}.

Aristidou is now up to 15,000 after doubling up.

Aces Hold for PokerStars Qualifier Derek Grieco

Picking up the action on a {3-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {4-Spades} {8-Clubs} board, PokerStars Qualifier Derek Grieco bet 2,500 prompting a call from an unknown player in seat 9.

The river brought the {K-Clubs} and once again Grieco casually tossed out another bet of 2,500. Again the bet induced a call from his opponent. Grieco flpped over {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} and his opponent mucked, congratulating Grieco with a "nice hand."

Grieco counted out about 36,000 in chips when he finished scooping and stacking.
