No Sinking For Steicke

Over at table 17, we saw a five-way limped pot and a flop of {2-Spades} {8-Spades} {8-Hearts} prompting a series of checks from all the players.

The turn card was the {10-Spades} and Marcos Vassiliadis bet 200, Alan Williamson called, Simon Christensson raised it up to 1,200, David Steicke called, and Vassiliadis called as well.

The river card was the 4s, and Vassiliadis checked to Christensson who bet 2,000. Steicke didn't waste much time, tossing in a raise to 7,500, enough to prompt a fold from Vassiliadis. Christensson, however made the call flashing the {A-Spades} which, much to his dismay was no good. Steicke quickly revealed pocket deuces for a flopped full house.

After the hand Steicke had about 35,000.

Not Bent-on Out of Shape

Aaron Benton
Aaron Benton
Three limpers entered the pot before Aaron Benton raised to 1,175 from the small blind. Only one of the limpers called.

The flop came down {8-Spades} {8-Hearts} {7-Hearts} and Benton continued his aggression with a bet of 1,600. His opponent called, bringing the two players to the turn where the {2-Diamonds} fell.

Both players checked and then the {Q-Clubs} completed the board. Benton fired 3,000 and his opponent raised to 9,100. Benton didn't back down and made the call, showing {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. His opponent insta-mucked upon seeing Benton's hand.

Benton is up to 39,000.

Wilson Doubles Before the Break

American Brian Wilson managed to double up just before the first break of the day.

Wilson moved all in over the top of an opponent's 3,000 flop bet with the board showing {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. To make the call, Wilson's opponent had to commit just over T12,000 more to the pot and he did just that.

When the cards were revealed, Wilson's {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} had his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} in bad shape. The turn and river blanked out and Wilson's flush held up to win the pot, bringing him back over the right side of 30,000 for the day.
