Benton's Pair of Aces Good

Wayne Carlson limped in the cutoff seat and then Aaron Benton raised in the small blind to 60,000. Carlson made the call. The flop came down {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} and Benton led for 50,000. Carlson called and then the {2-Spades} hit the turn. Benton fired again for 100,000. Carlson stuck right with him and made call.

The river was the {6-Spades} and Benton fired another 100,000. Carlson called.

Benton turned up {A-Spades} {8-Hearts} for a pair of aces, eight kicker, and Carlson mucked. Benton is up to 1.7 million while Carlson dropped to 400,000.

Hiscox Playing Big and Fast

Andrew Hiscox raised to 100,000 from the cutoff seat. That seems to be his opening raise this level. Leo Boxell called on the button.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades} and Hiscox shoved in. Boxwell quickly folded and let Hiscox rake in the chips. Boxell dropped down to 1.16 million and Hiscox moved up to 850,000.

Hiscox has been raising preflop to larger amounts than what his tablemates are all tourament. He's all constantly shoving in on flops if someone calls him preflop.

Hermans Bites a Piece Off the Graham Cracker

Preflop, Jarred "FlopNutsOnYou" Graham raised to 50,000 and Ernst Hermans three-bet to 120,000. Graham then moved all in and Hermans called off his 620,000-chip stack.

Graham held {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades} against Hermans' {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}.

The tens held for Hermans as the board contained no face cards, coming {5-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {4-Spades} {2-Hearts} {A-Hearts}.

Graham dropped to 750,000 after doubling Hermans to 1.3 million.

Graham Reassured by Levy

Jarred "FlopNutsOnYou" Graham has been three-bet the last two hands he's opened forcing him to fold. The folds have both been insta-folds and Graham looks to be getting a bit frustrated with things.

He's dropped to 620,000 after being well over a million chips coming out of the last break. He's decided to take a walk and has wandered over to chat with Team PokerStars Pro and former APPT Sydney Grand Final champ Grant Levy. Levy reassured Graham to keep playing his game and shake off the last couple bumps in the road.

Carlson Doubles through Formosa

Wayne Carlson just earned a bit of extra breathing room after winning a race to double up, courtesy of former chip leader David Formosa.

Carlson opened the pot with a raise to 100,000 from the cutoff, Formosa reraised enough to put Carlson all in and a call was made:

Carlson: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Formosa: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The board then filled out {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Carlson took down the pot with a pair of queens.

After the hand, Formosa dropped to right around one million in chips while Carlson improved to 650,000.
