Yuen Busto!

Sida Yuen - eliminated
Sida Yuen - eliminated
From the penthouse to the outhouse goes Sida Yuen. Yuen, in the top five in chip counts as recently as fifteen minutes ago, has been eliminated from the tournament. He tangled with Dermot Blain, creating a preflop pot of about 40,000 chips.

On a flop of {5-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}, Blain was forced to act first. He led into Yuen for 45,000 chips. Yuen's response was to move all in for 98,800. Yuen had that amount covered and after double-checking how much it was back to him, he called.

Blain: {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts}
Yuen: {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts}

Upon seeing Yuen's hand, Blain was very pained. He had to dodge a double-digit draw two separate times. The first time was the turn, which fell the {Q-Clubs}, no help to Yuen. The second time was the river -- a beautiful {9-Spades} that gave Blain the full house and the pot.

Dragging that pot increased Blain's count to 260,000 chips and put him in the top five, an honor formerly held by the now-busto Yuen.

Tony Hachem Eliminated

Tony Hachem eliminated
Tony Hachem eliminated
Catching the action on the flop of {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades} we found Tony Hachem all in for his last 20,000 or so.

With the action on Raymond Wu, he mulled over a decision before folding to leave Kyle Cheong Hachem's lone opponent.

Cheong thought for a few seconds before making the call to put Hachem at risk.

Hachem: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Cheong: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Unfortunately for the Australian Team PokerStars Pro there would be no help when the turn and river landed the {5-Spades} and {J-Hearts} to see Tony join Joe on the rail.

Joe Hachem Stacked

Unhappy Hachem
Unhappy Hachem
Unfortunately we missed Joe Hachem's bustout, but his former tablemate James Potter was generous enough to share the gory details:

Dbinder Singh opened the pot with a raise to 6,000. Hachem then shipped it all in for about 25,000 holding pocket queens. Action then made its way around the table to Terry Fan who moved in over the top of Hachem's bet for a total of 35,000. Original raiser Singh folded, prompting a classic heads-up showdown - Hachem's queens vs. Fan's Big Slick.

Fan took the lead spiking a king on the flop and never looked back, sending the elder Hachem to the rail.

Everything's Aces for Ang

Joshua Ang made the last preflop action in a hand against Sida Yuen. The two had gone back and forth in a series of raises, with the deep-stacked Yuen ultimately moving all in. Ang called all in for 89,100.

It was a battle of big pairs. Yuen's {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} were behind Ang's {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. To make matters worse for Yuen, Ang flopped the joint, {K-Spades} {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. That left Yuen looking for running kings or running queens. He got neither and fell to 123,000 in the counts after paying off Ang.

Curly Cut As Jackal Emerges

Emanuel "Curly" Seal Eliminated
Emanuel "Curly" Seal Eliminated
Eventhough we couldn't find his name in our player sheet, we had to believe when he provided his name as Jackal Lee after a three-way all-in clash saw Lee more than double up.

All the chips were in preflop with Emanuel Seal covering, and calling the all in from the big blind.

Seal: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Lee: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

The board fell {4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Lee avoids any problems to more than double up to around 85,000.

Seal took the flesh wound but the next blow was fatal as he ran his pocket jacks into Richard En's pocket queens on a nine-high board and was also sent to the rail.

Play Starts to Slow

For the first time all day it seems as though play is starting to slow down. We've reached ten tables left, with play eight-handed on most of them. The players perhaps are starting to sense that they're not so far away from the bubble. Granted we still have to eliminate three or four tables before we get there.

It will be interesting to see how much play opens up once the shift to eight-handed is completed in just a few more eliminations.

The Classic Race For Classic Opponents

Wally Sombero, joins the chips leaders!
Wally Sombero, joins the chips leaders!
Wally Sombero has stormed up the chip count leaderboard after a huge clash with Josh Field, that has left the online prodigy on the short stack.

It was a preflop race with Sombero's {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} up against the {A-?}{K-?} of Field. However the jacks held when the board ran out {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

The chips were cut down and Sombero's stack doubled to catapault him to 315,000 as Field was in disbelief that his hard work today has now left him with just 38,000 chips.
