Yuen Takes Penalty To The Break

Chip leaders get no favoritism when it comes to penalties. After Joshua Ang raised to 5,600 and Sida Yuen called, a player in the small blind then shoved all in over the top.

Ang sat in the tank for several minutes in thought as Yuen was clearly getting a little agitated. Yuen stood from his chair, and eventually just walked away from the table - an act that folds his hand, out of turn, and gives huge information to Ang for his decision.

Ang eventually decided to fold anyway and the small blind scooped the pot. However Ang then explained the situation to TD Danny McDonagh who issued a "missed hand" penalty to Yuen for the out-of-turn act.

Two for Chiu

We missed Eric Assadourian's opening raise from late position but saw David Chiu's response from the big blind. He moved all in for an additional 21,400 over the raise.

"I don't think you have much," said Assadourian. "I don't have much either but I don't think you have much." Chiu's response was to toss his cards towards the player to seats to his left.

"I call," said Assadourian, and the cards were on their backs. It turns out Assadourian was wrong. Chiu had {9-Spades} {9-Hearts} and was in the lead against Assadourian's {A-Spades} {8-Spades}.

"I'm gonna hit it," Assadourian asserted confidently. When the flop fell {4-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} to give him a pair of eights, he added, "That's a start. Now how about a spade."

The turn was not a spade. It was the {3-Clubs}. "That's no good," said a glum Assadourian. He had to pay Chiu off after the {3-Hearts} river.

"David Chiu doubles up," said TD Danny McDonagh on the microphone. "Nice to see him here in Macau."

"Not really," Assadourian muttered. "Nice hand, David."

Scott on a Heater

It's been a good level for Andrew Scott. He just eliminated another player. Brandon Demes opened a flop of {9-Spades} {8-Spades} {4-Hearts} for 8,000 and was called by one player before Scott raised to 35,000. Demes didn't want any part of the raise; he folded. But the third player put the rest of his chips in, just a bit more than Scott's raise. Scott called.

"I have a set of eights," he said calmly. He showed {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. His opponent had aces, {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. Scott immediately stood up and clapped his hands together.

"Hold up, hold up, hold up!" he pleaded. The turn and river bricked {6-Hearts} and {3-Clubs}. Scott's set held up to eliminate the other player.

"YEEES!" Scott shouted. "Now I've got some yellow chips." Scott also has whites, blues and purples to go along with those yellow, 160,000 in total.

xMONSTERxDONGx Clips rekrul

xMONSTERxDONGx - 1, rekrul - 0
xMONSTERxDONGx - 1, rekrul - 0
Jonathan 'xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis opened from the button to 4,500 and Daniel 'rekrul' Schreiber defended his big blind.

Schreiber checked the {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop to see Karamalikis fire 4,800. With the action on Schreiber he check-raised to 23,000 and Karamalikis moved all in. Schreiber called and the cards were tabled.

Schreiber: {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Karamalikis: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

With Karamalikis in the lead with top set to Schreiber's straight and flush-draw, the {2-Clubs} changed little followed by the {j-Spades} on the river.

As Karamalikis doubles to 115,000 in the battle of the online phenomenon's, Schreiber slips to 79,000 and change.

Sirens Warming Up

2008 APPT Manila champion Van Marcus is quietly working his way through this field nicely. He's now chipped up to around 70,000 after running an apparent bluff against Dane Lomas.

On a flop of {7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} Lomas checked and then called the 5,500-chip bet from Marcus, before the {K-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Both players checked and the free card on the river was the {8-Hearts}. Lomas came out swinging with a bet of 6,500 before Marcus quickly raised it up an additional 15,500 to force a fold from his opponent. Marcus flashed a seemingly unhelpful {6-Clubs} and raked in the pot.

Hachem Goes For A Walk

"Piss off!!!!" screamed Joe Hachem as he stood and walked away from the table in disgust.

The cards had been tabled on the checked river, after Hachem had bet the turn on a board of {6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{A-Clubs} against Dbinder Singh.

Hachem tabled {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for two pair on the flop, but Singh flipped {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for superior two pair on the river to take the pot.

Hachem returned to the table and hastily paid his stunned masseuse, as he goes back to work with 55,000 chips.

Scott's 15-Outer Gets There

"Where's the spade, where's the spade," said Andrew Scott. He was all in on a draw and called by a players with a small pair. The board was showing {7-Spades} {2-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Scott's {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} was in a virtual dead heat against his opponent's {4-Clubs} {4-Spades}.

The turn fell {A-Clubs}. "Ace'll do," said Scott. Indeed it would. The river blanked {5-Clubs} to give Scott a nice boost to his stack. He now has about 94,000 chips.

Lin Leaps to 88k

PokerStars Team Asia Pro Jonathan Lin recently doubled up to 88,000, courtesy of an aces v. kings set up hand.

The money found its way into the middle before the flop. Lin opened for a raise, his opponent reraised, and Lin shipped it with aces, only to be called immediately by his opponent's kings.

A ten-high board ensued, and Lin sent his opponent packing, stacking up just under 90,000 in chips in the process.

Saab Fighting Back

David Saab all in
David Saab all in
After slipping to 8,000 earlier in the day, David Saab has worked his stack back to over 72,000 in chips.

Most recently on a board of {K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} the action went down, "raise, re-raise, call, continuation bet, raise, all in" courtesy of the all in Saab.

His opponent deliberated for near on four minutes before relinquishing his hand to see Saab flash the {4-Spades} as he raked in the pot.

Tran Dodges the Ace

There are lots of chips over on Tom Hall's table, with Hall, Kristoffer Myhre and Bertrand Grospellier all battling each other relentlessly. It's been hard for short-stacked Theo Tran to find good spots.

He found one after Hall opened for 3,500 and the button player re-raised all in for a total of 16,900. Tran was in the big blind and re-shipped for 21,100, folding Hall. Tran's {K-Spades} {K-Spades} was up against the button's {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs} and successfully dodged the remaining aces in the deck, {Q-Spades} {4-Clubs} {9-Spades} {7-Spades} {K-Hearts}. With the blinds and the antes Tran is up to about 44,000.
