David Saab Eliminated

David Saab all in . . . and out
David Saab all in . . . and out
David Saab's roller coaster of a ride has ended with him hitting the rail.

Saab was all in preflop holding {8-?}{8-?} to an opponent's {A-?}{Q-?}, and after a safe flop, the turn and river ran out running Queen's to see Saab eliminated.

Amnon Filippi Busto

Amnon Filippi had one move left in his arsenal -- all-in.

"13,700," he told the table. "Three yellow chips and you'll get some change."

Action passed all the way to the big blind who quickly called.

"Call?" said Filippi. "Aces." He opened {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} then added, "Well, almost aces."

His opponent showed down {A-Diamonds} {j-Clubs} and paired aces on a flop of {5-Spades} {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}. Filippi quickly got out of his chair.

"Later guys," he said without watching the {7-Clubs} turn or {7-Diamonds} river. He is eliminated.

Marcus Recovers

Van's The Man
Van's The Man
Van Marcus had somehow been crippled but we must be a positive influence as we've since seen him double up twice to get himself back in the game.

The latest double up saw Marcus raise to 13,100 from the hijack position, leaving himself 100 chips behind, with Tom Rafferty reluctantly making the call in the big blind.

The flop fell {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and, not surprisingly, Rafferty bet 100 to put Marcus all in.

Rafferty: {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Marcus: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Marcus held the lead through the {5-Spades} and put the exclamation point on the hand with the {A-Hearts} river to double through to nearly 30,000 chips once again.

The Saab-coaster Continues

David Saab has experienced quite the up-and-down day. Most recently, he found himself back down to the 30,000 mark before open-shoving all in from early position holding {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. An unknown opponent made the call from the button and tabled {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

No worries, the man they call "Superman" managed to outrace his opponent's marginally better hand, as the board filled out {Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, giving Saab two pair and new life in the tournament.

Nine to Eight

Another table is in the process of being broken. TD Danny McDonagh informed the players that tables will now move from nine-handed play to eight-handed play. They will play eight-handed the rest of the way to the final table.

Myhre Comes Roaring Back

It's been a frustrating afternoon for the player who was the chip leader at the start of the day, Kristoffer Myhre. His stack has ever so slowly dwindled away. But after a recent elimination Myhre has fresh life.

We don't know what the first raise and re-raise were preflop. We do know that Myhre put in the first raise, and then the third raise to 71,000, a raise that covered his opponent. His opponent tanked for a while and then called.

Myhre: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}
Opponent: {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

"Queen-jack?" said another player at the table. "Wow!"

The flop brought two hearts, {7-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {2-Hearts}, taking away one of Myhre's opponent's outs. He was eliminated from the tournament after running clubs, {K-Clubs} and {7-Clubs}.

"Nice hand," he told Myhre. "I really thought you'd do that with any two cards."

After he departed the table, Theo Tran gave his own analysis.

"He out-thought himself. Even if [Myhre] is making a move, he's still behind king-four. Queen-jack? Even ElkY folds that."

"I fold, I fold," Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier agreed.

Myrhe is up to 240,000.

Australian Team PokerStars Pro Eric Assadourian recently doubled David Chiu up, and now has seen his short-stack hit the felt.

Involved in a multi-way pot, Assadourian held {A-Spades}{9-Spades} to be drawing live against {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} and {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} to see Assadourian run last and consequently hit the rail.
