Kashyap Picks Up Chips

Julian Cohen entered the pot from late position with a raise to 1,800 only to have Nauv Kashyap three-bet to 4,200 from the button.

Seine Tauia cold-called in the big blind as Cohen mucked before the dealer spread a {10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Tauia check-folded to Kashyap's 90,000-plus all in bet to see the Day 1a chip leader add some valuable chips to his stack.

Swannack Takes Early Dip

Both Cole Swannack and Zack Lowrie committed 1,800 preflop to see a {2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop fall and Lowrie lead from the big blind for 2,700.

Swannack made the call from the button, but when the APPT Macau third-place finisher was faced with a 4,500-chip Lowrie bet on the turn of the {J-Hearts}, he kicked his cards into the muck.

Day 2 Ready to Go!

Welcome back to SKYCITY Auckland Casino for Day 2 of the 2010 PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour Auckland Main Event!

Ninety-six players have merged together from the first two flights as the sole survivors still within a chance of capturing their maiden APPT Auckland title. Two PokerStars Online Qualifiers sit atop the leaderboard with Noah Vogelman (128,275) and ANZPT Gold Coast Champion Nauv Kashyap (99,075) holding a slight buffer over the remaining players that include Ricky Kroesen (81,900), Julius Colman (78,025), Andrew Hinrichsen (69,400), Leo Boxell (64,075), Lance Climo (48,800), Lee Nelson (39,625) and Cole Swannack (26,350).

With plenty of short stacks and room to maneuver due to such a fantastic structure, every one of the ninety-six players left will be jostling to sneak into one of the top twenty-four paying spots before making a run at the final table where a $123,058 (NZ$170,000) first prize is on offer.

Play is set to begin in roughly an hours time at 12:15 p.m NZST with plans to play down to the money or seven levels. PokerNews will again be on the floor providing all the live coverage - so stick tight and enjoy the 2010 PokerStars.net APPT Auckland Main Event live from the floor of the SKYCITY Auckland Casino!
