Vorapanich Four-Bets with Red Bullets

John Chong raised from under the gun to 20,000 before Wee Yee Tan reraised to 60,000 from the cutoff seat. TJ Vorapanich re-reraised from the small blind to 144,000. Chong tanked for several minutes until he had the clock called on him. Towards the end of the countdown, he mucked he hand. Tan folded as well and Vorapanich tossed over two red aces as he was pushed the pot.

Boom-shaka-laka

Brendon Rubie
Brendon Rubie

We walked up too late to see the opening raise, but Keith Hawkins had opened the pot, and Brendan Rubie had moved all in for 58,500 on top. The raise and the pull-in put 51,500 chips in the middle, so Hawkins was getting just about two-to-one on his call. It represented a significant chunk of his remaining stack, and he finally convinced himself to make the call to put Rubie at risk.

Showdown
Hawkins: {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Rubie: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}

The flop was a disaster for Rubie as it came down {K-Spades} {10-Spades} {2-Clubs} to vault Hawkins into a big lead with his two pair. The turn would open the door a door just a bit as the {5-Spades} gave the Aussie another nine outs to work with, drawing live to the spade flush. His mates Eric Assadourian, Tony Hachem, and Aaron Benton came to life on the rail yelling, "Come on, Rubie!" Assadourian shouted over top of the chaos, "Which one you want? A jack or a spade?"

Rubie was clearly a bit nervous standing behind his chair. "Whichever one wins," he said quietly.

The {J-Hearts} definitely wins, and that river card improved Rubie to the winning straight and secured his double up. He's back to 170,000 now, and he was rewarded with a big "Boom-shaka-laka!!!" from Assadourian after the hand.

Yoo Get Out of Here

Yong Hyun Yoo
Yong Hyun Yoo

Mikhail Mazunin raised from the cutoff seat to 18,500. Yong Hyun Yoo reraised all in from the small blind for 56,500 and Mazunin made the call. He held the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and was up against the {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of Yoo.

A king in the window hit the felt as the board ran out {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} and that was the end of the line for Yoo.

Nguuuuu

Jessica Ngu
Jessica Ngu

Cole Swannack raised to 18,500 for the second hand in a row, this time from the cutoff. Jessica Ngu called in the big blind. The flop bled {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Ngu checked, and Swannack checked behind. The turn was the {5-Spades}, and Ngu bet out 30,000. Swannack instantly said "all in," and Ngu called. Neither held a diamond. Instead, Ngu had flopped a set with {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}, and Cole had turned a straight with {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Ngu needed the board to pair to stay alive, but the river was a total brick, the {10-Clubs}. With 183,000 to his name, Swannack had Ngu covered by exactly 1,000 and eliminated the last woman in the field. She gets HK$108,200 for 20th place.

Cherep Silenced

Timothy Cherep
Timothy Cherep

Despite spending the last few hours claiming he was going to win the tournament, Timothy Cherep has made his exit. He's gone in 21st place after losing a flip with pocket fives when {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} rivered a straight.

Kronwitter Doubles Up Yoo

Jonas Kronwitter called Yong Hyun Yoo's all-in bet with the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Yoo held the {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and barely edged out Kronwitter.

The flop was big for Yoo when the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, giving him a full house. The turn and river completed the board with the {A-Clubs} and {10-Hearts}, respectively. Yoo was only all in for a tad over 20,000 so it didn't cost Kronwitter too much.

Ngu Shoving

John Chong limped under the gun and then action folded to TJ Vorapanich on the button He raised to 25,000. Jessica Ngu was in the big blind and moved all in after some deliberation. Her shove was for 165,000. Chong folded after getting a count of Ngu's stack and then Vorapanich followed suit.

Jensen Pipped, Eliminated

Patrick Jensen
Patrick Jensen

In early position, Patrick Jensen open-shoved his last 78,000 chips into the middle. The table folded all the way around to the big blind where Mikhail Mazunin squeezed his cards and asked for the count. When he learned the number, he quickly made the call with the covering stack.

Jensen flipped up {6-Spades} {6-Diamonds}, and he looked gutted as Mazunin tabled his just-better {7-Spades} {7-Hearts}. The dealer would provide no salvation for the shorty as she ran a board of {J-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {9-Spades} {J-Clubs} {3-Clubs}.

With that, Jensen's day is done, and 21 players remain.

Kronwitter Rocks Cowboys

Jeppe Drivsholm raised to 18,000, and Jonas Kronwitter moved all in for about 65,000. Right behind him, Patrick Jensen also pushed for around 105,000. After tanking of surprising length given the previous action, everyone finally folded back to Drivsholm. And he made the call, putting two players at risk. Stacked deck showdown time.

Kronwitter: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Jensen: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Drivsholm: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board fell a rather uninteresting {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Guess all the paint was dealt preflop. Kronwitter got a sweet triple up, and Jensen doubled through Drivsholm for the 40,000 he had left after paying off Kronwitter. Drivsholm looked quite miserable as he rearranged his remaining 175,000.

Tan Can Cook; Sparrow For Lunch

Sparrow Cheung
Sparrow Cheung

Wee Yee Tan made a late-position raise, and Sparrow Cheung moved all in for just about 100,000 right behind him. Tan made the call, and we waited for the cameras and the announcer before we got to see the cards. Eventually, a showdown:

Tan: {A-Clubs} {3-Hearts}
Cheung: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}

There was a troublesome ace on the flop as it came down {J-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {5-Clubs}. Cheung still had outs, though, and the {Q-Hearts} that turned gave him a few more to work with. The river {J-Clubs} was not one of those outs, however, and we've lost another player as Sparrow Cheung has flown the coop in 23rd place.
