Jessica Ngu Reveals Herself

Jessica Ngu
Jessica Ngu

Action folded to Jessica Ngu in the small blind and she shoved on Darren Judges in the big blind. Ngu is the only woman left standing and her shove sent Judges into the tank. He looked as if he had a very difficult decision on his hands. Eventually, he asked Ngu if she would reveal her hand if he folded and she agreed to. A little bit after that, Judges folded and Ngu tabled the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Judges claimed to have folded an ace.

Paulsen Drops a Small One to Kim

Action folded to the chip leader Kai Paulsen in the small blind. He was moved to a new table, but still has Albert Kim on his left. Kim raised to 16,500 from the big blind and Paulsen called. After a flop of {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Paulsen check-folded to a bet of 20,500 from Kim. Although Paulsen's done well all day to build his stack, Kim has been able to build his stack nicely from Paulsen in pots like this.

Durrer Dumped

Michael Durrer
Michael Durrer

Michael Durrer was all in with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} against Kenny Nielsen's {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. The flop was exactly what Durrer didn't want: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, and he didn't hold back on the language to express it. The {5-Spades} and {k-Diamonds} that came next didn't help him. The stacks were counted down, and it was determined that Nielsen had Durrer's 96k covered by a few thousand, sending Durrer to the rail in 30th place.

Teran Busts on Straight Draw

Oscar Teran
Oscar Teran

Another announcement came over the loud speakers and we ran over to see what was up. Oscar Teran was all in on the flop of {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} with the {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. His open-ended straight draw was up against the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} of Keith Hawkins.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and knocked out some outs for Teran, as Hawkins held a flush draw now. The river completed the board with the {8-Hearts}, but failed to complete the hand Teran needed to double up and stay alive.

Gonzales Busted

Rundulf Gonzales
Rundulf Gonzales

On the flop of {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, Victorino Torres fired an unknown bet before Rundulf Gonzales moved all in for 49,000 more. Torres tanked for a couple minutes and then made the call. He held the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} and Gonzales a flush draw with the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. His king would also be good if it fell on one of the two remaining streets.

The turn ended things though when the {J-Hearts} rolled off and gave Torress a full house, leaving Gonzales packing up his things for an exit to the rail. The river completed the semantics of things with the {3-Hearts}. Torres now has 180,000 chips.

Mazunin Keeps Climbing

Timothy Cherep checked the board of {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} to Mikhail Mazunin. He fired 26,000. Next up was Team PokerStars Netherlands pro Marcel Luske and he folded. Cherep made the call.

The river completed the board with the {4-Diamonds} and Cherep checked. Mazunin fired 40,500 and instantly, Cherep called. He waitied for Mazunin to turn his hand over, but mucked when he watched Mazunin tabled pocket jacks. Cherep slipped back to 75,000 while Mazunin moved up some more on the leaderboard and now has 575,000 chips.

Catch Your Breath

After a whirlwind level since the money, it's time for a 10-minute break. Phew. We lost eight players in the last hour, 20 percent of the field.

Cherep Keeps Chirping

Timothy Cherep had fallen back down considerably since his last double up when he got it all in with pocket sevens against Alexandre Chieng's ace-six offsuit. Cherep's hand held up, and he doubled to around 125,000 while Chieng fell to 70,000. Cherep went right back to muttering "all the chips...I'm going to get all the chips...all the chips."
