Some Count Updates

Bracelet Winner Down

Andrew Hinrichsen
Andrew Hinrichsen

Andrew Hinrichsen, one of the few Australian World Series of Poker bracelet winners, has just been eliminated.

Hinrichsen started the day with 37,250 chips, but couldn't get anything going. On his final hand he was all in for 11,400 chips against Brian Peak, and the showdown went as following.

Andrew Hinrichsen{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Brian Peak{J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Hinrichsen jokingly switched one card of each hand around, but the bottom line was that he needed serious help.

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, and Hinrichsen was gone. Peak is back up to around 32,000 chips.

Only Aces For Aristidou

Over on Table 28, there was a {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop on the felt and Kahle Burns was busy leading out for 3,100 into his one opponent, Peter Aristidou. After just a few seconds, Aristidou had raised it up to 8,100. Burns thought for a long while, eventually folding his hand.

"I told you!" started Aristidou. "I only play aces."

Aristidou teased Burns by showing an {a-Clubs} and Burns said, "What's that?" Aristidou obliged by showing another ace, the {a-Spades}.

Kanaan Moving Above Six Figures

Michael Kanaan has been on cruise control here on Day 2 of the 2012 APPT Melbourne Main Event. He recently eliminated a player to move above a six-figure stack.

The hand began when David Gorr opened the pot to 2,200. Kanaan called on Gorr's direct left and the player on the button shoved for 13,600. Gorr got out of the way and Kanaan called, flipping over {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

"Race off," said the at-risk player as he tabled {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

The {6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} board was no good for the player, with Kanaan picking up all the chips and another player hitting the rail.

The Rich Get Richer

Ted Nguyen started the day as the chip leader and can still claim that title, managing to recently eliminate Andrew Scott. The hand in question saw the two players get all the chips in preflop, with Scott holding {j-}{j-} against the {q-}{q-} of Nguyen. A board full of bricks and it was all over for Scott, while Nguyen soars up above 150,000.

Jarred Graham just raked in a big double up. He got his stack all in with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} against Adrian Chua who held {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The board ran out {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and Chua was eliminated.

Bentley Surges

Wayne Bentley just came over to the PokerNews desk, and not without a reason. The British PokerStars Qualifier managed to hit quad sevens and his stack is now worth around 115,000. Bentley started the day with only 35,075, and his day has been perfect so far.

Chevalier Charging

Danny Chevalier started the day with around the starting stack from Day 1, but has since seen that amount skyrocket. We recently watched Chevalier lead out for a bet of 8,000 on the river of {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board against Adam Cusenza. After thinking for a long time, Cusenza called and Chevalier turned over {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to pick up the sizable pot.

Dillon Dusts Wu

Raymond Wu on Day 1
Raymond Wu on Day 1

Pat Dillon hit the felt running on Day 2 as he managed to get his stack all the way up to 40,000 after starting with only 14,475.

In one of the first hands Dillion doubled up when he got his chips into the pot with pocket aces. His opponent showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, but didn't improve. Just now, Dillion added more chips to his stack when he knocked out Team PokerStars Pro Raymond Wu.

Dillon raised under the gun +2, and Wu moved all in from the big blind for his final 10,000 chips. The Irishman called with two kings and was up against {A-Spades}{Q-}. The board gave Wu a flush draw on the turn, but the river was a mere blank. Wu was send packing, and Celina Lin is the only Team PokerStars Pro remaining.
