Gill Doubled Two Players

A short stacked David Lloyd just moved all in under the gun for 15,500, and Oliver Gill called. Stephen Hansen tanked for quite some time, but eventually he moved all in for an additional 46,100. The action was back on Gill, who called rather quickly.

Stephen Hansen{J-Hearts}{J-Spades}
David Lloyd{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, and both Hansen and Lloyd doubled up. Gill was knocked down to 137,500, but in the following hands he managed to chip back up to 150,000.

Lin Long Gone

Celina Lin on Day 1
Celina Lin on Day 1

Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin had been off the radar for quite some time, and Adam Cusenza confessed to taking her last chips.

Lin raised from the hijack, and Cusenza called from the button. The flop brought {J-}{7-}{2-}, and Cusenza called the 3,100-chip continuation bet. On the turn the {Q-} popped up while the board remained rainbow. Lin fired out 5,200, and Cusenza called once more.

The river was a {10-}, and Lin moved all in for around 16,000 chips. Cusenza called with a set of sevens, after which Lin mucked. She claimed to have had ace-high, and got caught bluffing.

Skender Dodges a Ton of Outs

Julian Cohen was on te button when he moved all in for 16,200. Benn Skender sat in the big blind, and opted to call.

Julian Cohen{K-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Benn Skender{A-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The flop brought {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and Cohen added a flush draw to his outs. On the turn the {A-Hearts} showed up, giving Cohen another four outs. Unfortunately for him the river did not help him, as the {2-Spades} showed up.

Luu Long Gone; Gill Galloping

Oliver Gill has joined the ranks of the big stacks here on Day 2 of the APPT Melbourne Main Event. Gill recently eliminated Phi Luu when Luu got all his chips in preflop holding {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Gill had {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and while he was already in front, he even managed to flop a set. With that, Luu was sent home and Gill was left with a massive stack.

Croc Snaps Up a Double

Billy Argyos three-bet to 8,000 from the cutoff after an early-position player opened to 3,000. The player then four-bet all in, having Argyros well covered, and Argyros made the call for around 25,000.

Argyros: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The {8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop was a great one for Argyos and with safe cards on the turn and river, Argyros doubled up.

Grigg Hits His Only Out

Tom Grigg
Tom Grigg

Tom Grigg just hit a miracle card in order to knock out his opponent. The six of clubs was the only possible card that could help him, in a pot that went down like that.

Brendon Rubie raised it up to 2,500, and Grigg called as did three other players among which both blinds. The flop came down {4-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and the action was checked to Grigg. Grigg fired out 6,200, and the player in the small blind gave him action. He moved all in for around 22,000 more, and the other players folded. Grigg called as soon as the action got back to him.

Tom Grigg{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Opponent{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

"I got one out," Grigg said as he tabled his hand upon seeing his opponent's cards.

The turn was the {10-Hearts}, and the table roared when the dealer put out the {6-Clubs} on the river. Grigg hit a straight flush and beat his opponent's nut flush.

"Well that's not gonna happen for another year," Rubie laughed as Grigg started stacking his newly won chips. Grigg is one of the chip leaders, and up to around 220,000 chips.

Rafferty: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Feldman: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Spades} and Feldman took the double up, leaving Rafferty with around 30,000.
