Rubianes Wins Small Set

A recent hand saw Andrew Kim open the button to 120,000. Vincent Rubianes made the call and the {10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop was dealt.

Rubianes check-called a bet of 200,000 from Kim and the {k-Hearts} was brought about on the turn. This card saw both players check and the {7-Diamonds} complete the board on the river. Rubianes again checked and Kim would also check.

Rubianes then tabled his {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} for a flopped set of aces. Kim slid his cards into the muck and the pot went to Rubianes.

Moritz Ortmann - 4th Place

From under the gun, Moritz Ortmann raised all in for 685,000 just one hand after doubled up. Action folded to Vincent Rubianes in the big blind. He looked at his cards and said, "Oohhhh, how much?" After getting the count, he took a minute, then called.

Rubianes held the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Ortmann the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Ortmann was the player at risk and ahead in the flip to start.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Rubianes took the lead with a pair of kings. Ortmann was now looking for a deuce or running cards for a straight.

The turn brought the {K-Spades} and gave Rubianes two pair. Needing a two and only a two on the river, Ortmann couldn't find it when the {7-Hearts} fell and he was eliminated in fourth place. Due to the deal the final four made, he walked away with KRW 106,000,000.

Kim Up, Rodrigo Down

Andrew Kim can not be stopped lately. He is playing great poker, but it doesn't hurt to take to a {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop holding {7-Spades}{4-Spades}. In the hand in question, Rafael Rodrigo opened it up to 60,000 from under the gun and Kim called on the button. The blinds got out of the way and the flop was dealt.

Rodrigo led for 75,000 and Kim called with his flopped straight to see a {9-Clubs} hit the turn. This time Rodrigo would check and then call a bet of 150,000 from Kim. The {k-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Rodrigo again checked. This time Kim bet 250,000 and another call from Rodrigo would see Kim reveal his straight. Too good for Kim, it sent his cards straight into the muck.
