Kimura Finds Aces

Sasa Zorc raised to 200,000 to put the pressure on the shorter stacks behind him. Action folded around to Hideo Kimura in the big blind and looked at his cards. Then, he stood up, made some noises and pushed his chips into the middle. Zorc showed the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Kimura the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Kimura won the hand to double up.

Yoon Out The Door

It wasn't quite the result he was looking for, but it was certainly better than finishing on the bubble like Darren Yoon did at two PokerStars events in Macau just a month ago.

The end of Yoon's 2012 APPT Seoul Main Event began when he shoved for 96,000 on the button. He held {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and recevied the call from Vincent Rubianes in the small blind who held {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {q-}{3-}{3-}{j-}{q-}, with nothing favorable coming for Yoon as he exits in 21st place for a KRW5,750,000 score.

Zorc Wins This One From Guzzardi

Play folded to Michael Guzzardi on the button and he raised to 12,000. Sasa Zorc three-bet to 30,000 from the big blind and Guzzardi made the call to see the flop in position. The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Zorc bet 35,000. Guzzardi called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Zorc fired 57,000. Guzzardi thought for a bit and then requested a count on the remaining stack of Zorc. Zorc had 161,500 behind and Guzzardi began to think for a bit longer. About a minute passed and then Zorc requested that the clock be called on Guzzardi. Zorc looked a bit impatient with the amount of time Guzzardi was taking, but the floor ruled Guzzardi could have some more time to think before the actual clock was put on him. Eventually, Guzzardi gave it up and Zorc won the pot. Still, he didn't seem too impressed with the amount of time Guzzardi took to act on the turn.

Chop It Up

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Moritz Ortman opened with a raise to 14,000 from middle position and Kenneth Wong three-bet from the next seat to 35,500. Fakher Alizai was next up and four-bet to 100,000 before play folded back to Ortmann. He gave it up and then Wong jammed for 130,500. Alizai called the extra little bit.

The two players both showed a variation of the same hand. Wong held the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Alizai the {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. The board ran out a rather uneventful {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and the two chopped up the pot.

Rubianes The Mighty

We came to the action with a flop showing {k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Jhana Hale leading out for 8,000. Vincent Rubianes was next to act and he raised it up to 31,000. One more player was behind and the let their hand go before Hale made the call.

The {2-Hearts} on the turn would see Hale check-call a bet of 79,000 from Rubianes as the {8-Spades} completed the board. This time when Hale checked, Rubianes shoved all in. This sent Hale into the tank as the over 200,000-chip stack would a be huge portion of his stack. Eventually he decided to let his hand go, sending the big pot to Rubianes who now sits as the chip leader.

Chupin Shipped Out

Taewook Kwon raised from middle position to 13,500 and Valeriy Chupin reraised all in from the small blind for 49,500. In the big blind, Josh Kim made the call. Kwon then reshoved and Kim folded the {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} face up. Kwon tabled the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} with a sigh of relief and Chupin the {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Kwon won the pot with deuces full of nines. Chupin was eliminated in 22nd place.

Guzzardi Moving Up

Sasa Zorc raised to 13,000 from middle position and play folded to Michael Guzzardi in the big blind. He defended with a call to see the {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop fall. First to act, Guzzardi checked to the preflop aggressor. Zorc bet 15,500 and Guzzardi made the call.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and Guzzardi checked to Zorc again. Zorc opted to slow things down a bit and checked behind to see the {2-Diamonds} pair the board on the river. Guzzardi tossed out 50,000 and Zorc folded, claiming that he had planned to call the river, but Guzzardi's bet sizing made him change his mind.

Guzzardi is now over 300,000 while Zorc dropped back below that line.
