Another Empty Seat

Plenty of players have been busting early on Day 2. The tables will surely start breaking soon, but in the mean time here is another one of the empty seats we have noticed.

Laidlaw Sent to the Cashier

Daniel Laidlaw was spotted in the queue at the cashier which can only mean one thing – busto!

He kindly recalled to us that he shoved all in from under the gun for around 8,000 with queen-ten, but the player in the big blind tanked before calling with a dominant king-queen.
The board bricked out and Laidlaw was eliminated.

You Go Home Yoon

Daren Yoon is an early casualty from Day 2 of the APPT Cebu Main Event. With a raise from under the gun to 1,800 and a re-raise to 3,800 from David Steicke in front of him, Yoon moved all in for around 12,000 with pocket tens. The under-the-gun player re-raised all in with ace-queen, to force Steicke to have to fold his pocket jacks.

Yoon was pretty happy with that as he looked to almost triple up in a race situation, but an ace fell on the turn to spell the end for his tournament.

Julian Hasse Enough to Out Anunu

When we wandered past Mishel Anunu's table we noticed he was getting his stack all in on a flop showing {2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The player who had him covered was Julian Hasse.

Hasse: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Anunu: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Before the dealer flipped over the turn and river, Anunu had gathered his things and made his way from the table. He turned just once to see the {8-Spades} hit the turn and the {3-Hearts} land on the river as this past Sunday Warm-Up victor makes his way out the door.

Table of Toughies

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

We couldn't help but notice the caliber of talent over on Table 7. Sitting in seat one is the USA's resident party boy and successful poker pro Carter Gill, seat two is 2011 ANZPT Adelaide champion Octavian Voegele, seat four is Voegele's runner-up in Adelaide and former PokerStars Sunday Million victor Jesse "On The Mac" McKenzie, in seat five we have online crusher James "supanova99" Bills and in seat seven it is reigning ANZ Player of the Year Danny Chevalier.

One Team Pro Down

Vivian Im
Vivian Im

We have last our first Team PokerStars Pro of the day and not only that, we have lost our reigning champion.

Vivian Im started the day as one of the shortest stacks in the room and hasn't been able to run it up as she has recently hit the rail. Im had her stack all in holding {a-}{5-} and had to come up against an opponent's {a-}{10-}.

The board ran out {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and it was all over for Im as she won't be seeing the same success this season as last season.

Amourette Wins Early

When we came to Antoine Amourette's table, there was already a flop showing {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Amourette was involved in a hand with Pakinai Lisawad.

It was on Amourette to act first and he opted to check. This prompted Lisawad to bet 2,200 and Amorette would make the call as an {a-Diamonds} hit the turn. This card would again see Amourette checke and Lisawad would flick out 4,700. It wasn't going to be another call from Amourette, as he would start readying a check-raise. It was 13,500 to his opponent. After some though Lisawad decided to let his hand go and send the nice little pot to Amourette.

How Many Levels

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

We have just been told that play will most likely last eight levels today. Us at the media desk have set the line at 30 remaining players by that stage of the tournament. Let's see how it goes.
