O'Dwyer Crippled in Big Hand Versus He

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Steve O'Dwyer had raised from under the gun and called a three-bet by Chang He to see a flop of {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. The Irish American check-raised all in and He made the call with {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} after having hit top pair. O'Dwyer turned over {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for one over card and the flush draw, but the {8-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river bricked.

The start-of-the-day chip leader was in the big blind next and called all in for 72,000 with {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. JP Kelly had pushed from the small blind with {K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and the board blanked out in {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

Two Tables Left and Zhu Doubles

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Yaxi Zhu had patiently waited for a spot and three-bet shoved her short stack from the small blind with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Initial raiser Liang Yu had to call with {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts} from the button and the board ran out {2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Moments prior to that, two players had been eliminated and the field was reduced to the last 18 participants.

Leo Yan Ho Cheng open-shoved from the button for 190,000 with {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Marcus Lau called out of the small blind with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} to score the knockout on a board of {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

And then, Xue Qian Wu got his stack of around 250,000 in out of the small blind with Hao Tian making the call as initial raiser. Tian only had to fear one over card while holding {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} as the Australian had put his hopes on {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board was no good for the player at risk and Tian moved up to more than one million in chips.

Here Comes the Scare Card

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jack Hu opened the hand with a raise to 40,000 from early position and Sunny Jung in the cutoff as well as Liang Yu in the big blind called. On the {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop the action was checked to Jung and he led for 75,000. Both his opponents called and Hu then took the lead after the {A-Hearts} turn with a bet of 130,000.

That did the trick to enforce two folds and Hu is the dominating chip leader.

Smith Takes from Lau

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Marcus Lau opened to 42,000 from the cutoff and was called by Asa Smith from one seat over. On the {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{K-Spades} flop, Lau's continuation bet worth 45,000 was called before both players checked the {10-Hearts} on the turn. After the {9-Spades} had completed the board, Lau check-folded to a bet of the Brit and Smith moved up to more than average.

Chips Come and Go

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Xue Qian Wu moved all in for five big blinds from the button with {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Steve O'Dwyer called out of the big blind with the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. The two almost identical hands were hoping for a flush but Wu got a double up thanks to his kicker on a board of {Q-Spades}{A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

O'Dwyer Knocks Out Li

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Yuguang Li
Yuguang Li

A short-stacked Yuguang Li moved all in for what looked like 100,000 and Steve O'Dwyer called from two seats over, all other players threw their cards into the muck.

Li was dominated with {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} as yet another pair of kings had made an appearance. O'Dwyer's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} held up on the {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{7-Hearts} board and the field was reduced to the last 20 players.

Just one hand later on the very same table, Asa Smith open-shoved for 195,000 and was called by Shing Fung Lo on the button. Shashank Rathi folded and said during the showdown that he had folded {A-}{10-}.

Smith: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Lo: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The board stayed clear for the Brit and ran out {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Zang's Aces Hold

Level 14 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Shunu Zang raised to 35,000 from the cutoff and snap-called the shove of Randy Lew from one seat over for his last 150,000 with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. The PokerStars Team Online member had {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and failed to improve on a board of {2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Alner Doubles Through He

Level 14 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Chang He in the small blind and Tom Alner in the big blind defended against a raise by a player in middle position and saw a flop of {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs} that got checked around. On the {4-Clubs} turn, Alner got his remaining 95,000 chips in with {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and He looked him up with {A-}{8-}. The double up for the Brit was officially confirmed when the {5-Diamonds} river completed the board and he is now around 20 big blinds.
