A Cat With Many Lives

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer got his short stack all in and Tom Alner reshoved out of the small blind for 340,000 and the superior stack. Shunu Zang mucked the big blind and O'Dwyer was in dire need of help with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Alner had him dominated with {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} but they chopped the pot on a board of {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

One hand later, Shing Fung Lo open-shoved from under the gun for just over 350,000 chips and O'Dwyer called all in for 305,000 from two seats over. Everyone else got out of the way and Lo's {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} failed to improve against the {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} of the Irish-American. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Brutal Bust for Jung

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Sunny Jung
Sunny Jung

Shashank Rathi defended his big blind against an under-the-gun raise of Sunny Jung and check-called the {4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} flop to do so again for 170,000 on the {7-Diamonds} turn. Both players had just over 100,000 chips behind and Rathi instantly moved all in after the {4-Hearts} river.

Jung was taking a long time and eventually called with slightly less chips than his opponent to muck his hand in disgust when he was shown the {J-Hearts}{4-Spades} by Rathi. The dealer told him to reveal the cards as it was an all in showdown and he obliged and flipped over the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} before leaving the tournament area.

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Randy Lew stole some blinds and antes, he also got through with a min raise and betting the turn of a {4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board and moved up in chips. Tom Alner, Steve O'Dwyer and JP Kelly all got through with shoving their short stacks without receiving a call.

New Shiny Purple Chips

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Some of the T-5,000 chip stacks have been raced off during the break and new purple T-100,000 chips have been introduced along with more of the T-25,000 chips to make the hands less time-consuming.

Steve O'Dwyer shoved the very first hand from under the gun and didn't receive any caller.

First Break on Day 2

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The first three 40-minute levels have been played and the field has been reduced from 30 to 17 with the top 11 spots getting paid.

Asa Smith won a small pot against Shashank Rathi after raising from the button to 40,000 and receiving a call by Rathi in the big blind. The local regular bet the {9-Hearts}{J-Spades}{K-Spades} flop for 55,000 and was called before checking down the {8-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river. Rathi showed {A-}{2-} and Smith won the pot with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

And then, Jack Hu opened to 40,000 and called Randy Lew's shove for 224,000 with {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}. "nanonoko" was at risk with {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} while Hu had some words for the table neighbor of the PokerStars Team Online member, who was rooting for Lew. It was some words in Chinese but apparently the English "#### you" is universal.

Either way, the board ran out {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the players are on a 10-minute break now.

Zhu Busts to Haraikawa

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Yaxi Zhu three-bet shoved out of the small blind for her last 12 big blinds and initial raiser Hajime Haraikawa made the call with {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Zhu's {A-}{8-} failed to improve on an eight-high board and the field was reduced to 17.

Steve O'Dwyer pushed from late position to claim the blinds and antes, he is still just above 10 big blinds though.
