Get that Man a Glass of Wine

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
The Croc
The Croc

It's been a bad for Billy Argyros. He doubled Russell Thomas up in the opening moments of the day and his stack has slid from there. Things are looking up for him finally though after he doubled up.

The action folded to him in the cutoff and he moved all in for his last 26,000. Andrew Gaw shoved from the next seat and successfully isolated the Aussie legend.

Argyros: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Gaw: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

The board ran {7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}. Argyros shouted for an ace on the turn and then on the river. "There it is! Now someone get me a glass of wine."

Play Resumes

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The break is over and play will resume. There are 30 minutes left in this level and after two more hours of play, there will be an extended break.

Break Time

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Players are on a 10-minute break. There are 45 remaining. Some notable bust outs in the last section of play were, Michael Tureniec, who shoved all in on the turn against Ningdan Shi with queens, Shi had {a-}{k-} and had flopped a king.

Also, Andy Andrejevic busted in the last level. Andrejevic had a good start to the tournament and was looking to parlay a fantastic month of September into a big score here. Andrejevic had three top 8 finishes in September for over $300,000 in winnings.

Zhou Wakes up to Fold

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Stephen Zhou's neighbour took 500 off his stack to pay the ante after he fell asleep at the table. When he did wake up, Guoliang Wei shoved on him with a straight showing on the board.

That board read {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Zhou had had a 20,000 bet called on the turn before he was put to the test on the river for his remaining 78,000. "Good bet," he said with a smile as he folded.

Recent Eliminations

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

All Shi Wrote, Tureniec Hits The Rail

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ningdan Shi has eliminated Michael Tureniec. The two were heads up on the turn and it was the beginning of the end for Tureniec.

The board read {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Shi bet 85,000 into a pot of roughly 100,000. The action was on Tureniec, who seemed unsure what to do next. After some deliberation, Tureniec shoved all in for 92,000, only 7,000 more than Shi's bet. Shi called and turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for top pair. Meanwhile, Tureniec had {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and the river didn't help him. Tureniec was eliminated shortly before the break.

Ward Can't Be Stopped

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Thomas Ward has done nothing but stack chips all day, and is now at 700,000 chips.

Liu, Suzuki Out

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Peiran Liu and Takuya Suzuki have been recently eliminated. Suzuki, who finished third in a charity tournament before play started today, ran {a-}{3-} into {a-}{7-} and his opponent hit a full house to knock him out. There are 45 players remaining.

Drinan Takes Gu off a Hand

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Connor Drinan is edging back towards 300k after a laughing Huidong Gu folded to his river bet.

Gu raised to 6,000 from the button and Gu peeled from the big blind to see a {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop. Gu continued for 6,000 and Drinan check-called to the {a-Hearts} turn that was checked. Drinan then led for 12,000 on the {q-Spades} river and Gu giggled and opened the {2-Hearts} as he folded. He also showed the {k-Hearts} after another few seconds.

More Counts, Ward Takes Over Chip Lead

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Thomas Ward has been on a tear today. Since doubling up within the first few hands of the day, Ward has ran his stack up to over 650,000. Yuguang Li is still sitting at just under 500,000 and the two are well ahead of the rest of the pack.
