From One Flight to the Other

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Day 1c has already reached in the 5th level, and there are 41 entries with 39 still in the field. Many players that busted in the late stages of Day 1b elected to play the turbo flight, instead of entering with 30 big blinds in Day 1b.

Xinglong Huang, Hao Tian, Shawn Busse, and Vitaliy Kim are among others who played both flights today.

Chuttani Hits Quads Versus Aces

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Sahil Chuttani
Sahil Chuttani

In a crazy hand Sahil Chuttani shoved from the button for 21,600 after a MP open, and action was to the small blind player. He asked for a count of Chuttani's stack, and with the original raiser having around 30,000 chips, he shoved covering both of them.

The initial raiser folded, and Chuttani was in a difficult spot with kings versus aces. The window card was a king and the flop came {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades} with the original raiser saying that he folded sevens!

The {j-Hearts} on the turn didn't change anything and the {k-Diamonds} on the river gave quads to Chuttani, but we would have witnessed an amazing hand with quads vs quads should the first player had gotten involved in the pot.

Double Up for the Two-Time APPT Korea Champ

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Albert Paik
Albert Paik

Albert Paik is in the field and he has had enough success during the past APPT festivals. Paik has not won only one, but two Main Events, in 2016 APPT Seoul for ₩119,097,600 (~$103,000), and in 2017 APPT Incheon for ₩44,860,000 (~$39,300).

Here in Jeju he was found short but managed to double up the moment we arrived at his table. He had shoved with {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} and got called by Zhang Yang's {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, with the flop running out {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

His stack now is near what he started.

Up and Down for Chuttani

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Indian's Sahil Chuttani, didn't start well today and he used his single re-entry option after the first couple of levels.

Since then he is around the starting stack, and a little bit earlier we saw him with double the starting stack. Not for long though, since he just lost a flip and he is back to around 15 big blinds.

He was in the small blind, and three-bet to 11,000 versus a middle position open. His opponent shoved and Chuttani snap-called for 35,600 in total.

He had ace-king and was up against sevens with the board running out {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and he is back to 23,000.

Liang Song Loses Some, Then Doubles-Up

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Liang Song
Liang Song

Two hands in a row for the winner of 2019 APPT Jeju National, Liang Song, where he lost one but he won the most important, which was the all in situation.

At first, Song called from the button the cut-off's raise to 2,700, and the small blind popped it up to 11,500. Only Song called and the flop was {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} with the three-bettor continuing with 7,200.

Song called again, and the {3-Spades} appeared on the turn. This time the aggressor announced all in, with Song having around 20 big blinds behind him and he snap folded.

In the next hand he was in the cut-off and three-bet shoved for 23,800 after Hao He' open from early position. Hao He called and the two players opened their cards.

Hao He: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Liang Song: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Song doubled up to 50,000 chips.
