Obara Finds a Fortuitous River Against Zhang

Level 10 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Wayne Zhang opened from the cutoff, Jun Obara moved all in from the big blind for 283,000 and Zhang snap-called.

Jun Obara: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Wayne Zhang: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The flop came down {7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Obara picks up a flush draw. A {7-Hearts} hits on the turn and Obara will need a queen or club to stay alive. The dealer turned over a {9-Clubs} as a river, giving Obara the flush and it would be good to double through Zhang.

Noda and Obara Double

Level 10 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The cards of Wai Kiat Lee were already in the muck and Hiroyuki Noda had the winning hand with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for top pair on a {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop.

One table over, Daniel Lee sent a short stack to the rail before doubling Jun Obara for 13 big blinds. Lee had briefly flashed his cards but mucked them when he couldn't beat the {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs} of Obara on the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} river.

Michael Soyza
Michael Soyza

Michael Soyza opened to 22,000 from under the gun, Randy Lew three-bet to 62,000 on the button and Soyza called. The dealer fanned out {7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} on the flop and Soyza checked to Lew who bet 45,000.

Soyza called, the {2-Hearts} landed as a turn card and both players checked to the {4-Diamonds} river. Soyza moved all in for 169,000 and Lew asked for a count as he made his decision.

After a full thirty seconds of thought Lew chucked his cards into the muck, sending the pot to Soyza.

Wai Wa Chan: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Lei Yu: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Lew Doubles Through Yotsushika

Level 9 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Randy Lew
Randy Lew

Randy Lew opened first to act and received three callers including Kazuhiko Yotsushika and Phachara Wongwichit in the big blind. They all checked through a {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and it was Yotsushika that bet the {8-Clubs} turn for 35,000. Lew check-raised to 75,000 and called the shove of his opponent for the following showdown.

Randy Lew: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Kazuhiko Yotsushika: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

The {6-Diamonds} on the river brought no upset and Lew secured the double.

While all players headed out of the tournament area right after as level nine drew to an end, Yasreel Praveen Doddaiavar won a flip against an opponent with ace-king against pocket fives after spiking a straight on the river. Doddaiavar, who already led the Short Deck Ante-Only Event as chip leader into the final day, may very well do the same for the Super High Roller.

Vincent Li
Vincent Li

Three-way to the {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Gen Nose and he bet 20,000. Chin Wei Lim in the cutoff raised to 57,000 and the third player in the hand folded, while Nose called. On the {6-Spades} turn both players checked and the {7-Clubs} appeared on the river.

Nose checked and Lim moved all in to force a fold.

The very next hand, Vincent Li ended up all in and at risk for around 130,000 with {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Lim had the best of it preflop with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. There was no upset on a board of {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Li headed to the rail in the final level of late registration.
