Jingzhi Wang Leads After Day 1a of the 2019 APPT Manila Main Event
The first flight of the 2019 PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila ₱65,000 Main Event is in the books, and it is Jingzhi Wang who managed to bag the biggest stack of the day. When everything was done, she wrote on her bag the number 468,000, which is good enough to give her the chip lead.
Jingzhi Wang has only two cashes registered in her name according to the Hendon Mob database, one of them from this very festival in Manila, and the other one in APPT Jeju one month ago. Now she is placed better than any other entrant of Day 1a, in order to go deep into the event, and at least secure her third lifetime cash.
The opening flight of the Main Event comprised of 403 entries, with 347 unique players, and only 101 of them managed to stay on their seats after the end of 13 levels of play.
Other players that bagged big for Day 1a are Edgar Kim (317,000), Yuri Odagiri (270,000), and Le Thai Loc (241,000).
Among those that played the first flight but didn't make it through are 2019 APPT National final tablists, Thijs Hilberts, Eran Shaham, Lee Wang Yong, Si Yang Phua, along with Tae Hoon Han, Ulrik Scotwin, and Siyuan Wang.
Tomorrow will be a new day, and everyone who didn't advance to Day 2 will have the chance to give it a try during Day 1b. This will be the second and last flight of the Main Event, and it is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. local time. The ₱20,000,000 guaranteed has been smashed from Day 1a, as there are already ₱22,868235 in the prize pool, and it can only go up after the second starting flight.
The 101 players that will continue their efforts in Day 2, will return on Saturday 3 August at 1:00 p.m. local time, for the penultimate day of the Main Event.
