Chen was ahead but the 9♠6♠4♠ flop instantly improved Ward to a flush. With just the top pair by then, Chen needed running cards and the 5♦ turn sealed his fate to make the 4♣ river a formality.
Once the action folded to Junya Kubo on the button, he pushed all-in for approximately 16 big blinds and chip leader Gyuhyuk Lee looked him up from the very next seat.

Nino Pansier open-jammed his bigger stack from the button into two shorter stacks. One of those belonged to Lloyd Locsin, who called all-in for around half a million in chips.
"I have an ace," Pansier announced and Locsin replied "me too, with a nine" before they flipped over the cards.

Locsin asked for a nine on the flop but instead, Pansier got there to take the lead on J♦6♠4♠., The Q♥ turn had Locsin one card away from elimination which was confirmed by the 5♣ river.

Christopher Mateo three-bet to 450,000 preflop and Gyuhyuk Lee, who had opened to 160,000, came along.
Mateo led the 5♣5♦2♥ flop for 375,000 and the Q♥ turn for 750,000, both of which Lee called. The local player then checked the 7♦ river and Lee bet 1,275,000 for Mateo to call.
Lee tabled the A♣Q♣ and Mateo shook his head in frustration as he sent the cards into the muck.
Ivan Tabucal had open-jammed the previous hand and earned the blinds as well as big blind ante.
The second shove in quick succession for 1,060,000 was then called by Nino Pansier.
