2023 APPT Manila
On the 10♦8♣7♦J♠Q♥ river, Thomas Ward bet 13,000 into a pot of around two times as much and Yuanning Wu was sent into a brief tank. One minute passed and Wu then called to get shown the 6♦6♠ by Ward. Wu had that beat with the A♥A♦ to win a healthy pot.
The UK's Jacque Ramsden squeezed to 16,000 preflop only for Sangjin An to push all-in. While the latter moved forward his stack for the dealer to count, Ramsden had already folded instantly without asking for the amount.
Before raking in the pot, An flashed his A♣A♥ and Ramsden replied "nice hand".
On the tail end of a K♠10♣8♥2♠5♠ board, Teck Heng Chua paid off a bet worth 3,000 by Hyowon Seo. The latter tabled K♦8♠ for flopped two pair and Chua briefly exposed KxJx before mucking.
Picking up the action on the J♦7♣4♦ flop, Akiinori Sugahara bet 2,400 from under the gun and was called by Hal Rotholz in middle position. The 9♠ appeared on the turn and Sugahara check-folded when Rotholz bet.
Level: 7
Blinds: 400/800
Ante: 800
Upon completion of level six, the field has been sent into an extended break of 25 minutes, during which players can take advantage of a buffet service in the Coral Room.
Following a min-raise from under the gun, Daniel Benor three-bet jammed a short stack from two seats over. Kyrillos Gerges in the big blind asked for the stack size of the initial raiser to then move all-in over the top and his table neighbour snap-folded.
Daniel Benor: A♣J♥
Kyrillos Gerges: Q♥Q♦
The K♣10♦7♥10♠6♥ board provided no help to Benor and that spelled the end for the player from Israel.
Taekbeom Ko was all-in for 11,500 from an early position and Sze Ngai Kao pushed all-in over the top. Tung Wing Wong was in a brief tank and sent his cards into the muck.
Taekbeom Ko: A♥K♥
Sze Ngai Kao: 9♠9♣
The A♣A♠2♥6♦3♣ board gave Ko trips and he more than doubled, while Kao took a small hit to his large stack.
