Tetsuro Tomita moved all-in for 68,000 in the cutoff and Kenny Shih called on the button.

Tomita was happy to be ahead while Shih grinned and suggested "straight, maybe?"

The K♦Q♠10♥ flop gave Shih two pair and joked "no straight, abort ... abort". Nothing changed with the 5♣ turn and 7♣ river to knock out Tomita as both players shook hands.

Day 1a chip leader Oleg Kaminski followed alongside Jeoffrey Sibal.

Kevin Clemot raised to 32,000 and was called by Cher Whey Cheng out of the big blind. Both players checked the 9♦6♦6♠ flop and that brought them to the J♣ turn. Cheng check-shoved into a bet of 60,000 by Clemot, who asked for a count.

The all-in was for another 113,000 on top and Clemot called.

The 9♣ river paired the board and sent Cheng on his way to the payout desk.

Down to 52,000 in chips after the most recent all-in showdown, Tetsuro Tomita was all-in with the 3♦3♠. Rasid Pasitao isolated with a shorter stack in the small blind and tabled the A♠8♠.

The board came 3♣2♣2♥J♥K♥ and Tomita earned an "easy double".

John David was not as fortunate and bowed out in 71st place followed by Kyrillos Gerges.
