Can Liu Be Stopped?

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The action folded around to Jiajun Liu in the small blind who completed the bet. Seyed Borghei was on the big blind and checked, before both players watched the flop come down {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

Liu bet out 3,000 and was called. The turn brought the {a-Hearts} and Liu reached for chips and threw out 8,000. Borghei called. The {a-Diamonds} completed the board and without hesitating Liu threw out one 25,000-chip. Borghei didn't seem happy with the bet but eventually made the call.

Liu then tabled his {a-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a full house, which was enough to take down the pot.

Liu is quickly extending his gap between the rest of the field as he nears the one million chip mark.

Lee Eliminated

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Young Australian poker player Alex Lee has just been eliminated from the tournament after an unfortunate river card ended his day.

The details of the hand are minimal, but Lee went all in with pocket jacks and was up against his opponent who had {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and drawing to a flush.

The river brought a king to give his opponent a higher pair.

Kanaan Busts Zalac

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Michael Kanaan

We heard some stunned voices from across the room and headed over to see what it was about. The board read {8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Ivan Zalac was standing up watching as his chips were being counted and then watched every single one move over to Michael Kanaan who was showing {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

We learned from several sources, the money went in on the turn when Zalac had {a-}{7-} for two pair. The jack on the river ended up giving Kanaan the better two pair and that is what caused the commotion. Both players had decent and near even stacks. Thanks to a fortunate river, Kanaan is now sitting on a double the average stack.

We just passed Jiajun Liu sitting behind a stack that just keeps growing.

The chip leader has extended his lead, and is now clearly in front of the pack as the only player over half a million in chips.

Haggart Doubles Through Zheng

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We came up to the table just as Alvan Zheng was calling the all in of Christian Haggart. Haggart tabled {a-Spades}{8-Hearts} while Zheng showed {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The flop of {4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} was good for Haggart as the low cards helped to ensure his 8 kicker would play. It did indeed play when the {8-Spades} came on the turn giving him two pair. The river {7-Hearts} came making the double up official.
