Yu Give Me Chips

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Just before the break we caught a hand were Jiajun Li opened to 4,200 from middle position. Hongxing Yu then raised it up to 10,200 from the cut off before Henry Szmelcer bumped it up to 24,000.

Li got out of the way, and Yu called. The flop came down {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Szmelcer threw out a continuation bet of 30,000 which was called. The {j-Spades} on the turn saw Szmelcer bet out 40,000, enough to cover Yu. He made a quick call as both tabled their cards.

Yu: {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Szmelcer: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Yu was in front with two pair and was also drawing to the higher flush. The {2-Diamonds} completed the board giving Yu a double up to 179,000 as Szmelcer dropped down to 70,000 in chips.

Ishibashi Does It Again

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We arrived at the table just as Yeow Chong opened to 4,000 from under the gun plus one. The action folded to Anson Wong in the cut off who moved all in for his last 25,000 in chips. Tsuyoshi Ishibashi was in the blinds, and moved all in for around 42,000 in chips, putting the pressure back on Chong.

He contemplated for several minutes before eventually releasing his hand. The other two players then tabled theirs.

Wong: {K-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Ishibashi: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Unfortunately for Wong the board ran out {9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} do see his pocket kings cracked.

Ivan Zalac
Ivan Zalac

We arrived at the table just as Ivan Zalac and Shivan Abdine completed committing all their chips in before the flop.

Zalac: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Abdine: {A-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

It looked like Zalac would lose a big chunk of his chips, until the board came out {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The king on the flop gave Zalac the victory as he rocketed over 200,000 in chips, leaving Abdine shocked as he exited the tournament floor.
