Bubble Busts

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Daniel Giang exposed two aces with action pending after moving all in. The dealer had misheard his heads-up opponent who was asking for a count not calling and twice said "call?"

He folded and Giang was almost given a penalty for exposing his hand until the table stood up for him and all agreed he'd certainly not done it on purpose.

The very next hand Giang raised, Renato Villanueva pushed in and Giang called with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} again. Villanueva had {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and in a strange turn of events, he became the bubble boy after the {4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} run out.

Zak Fizzles

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Elan Zak got it in with a shorter stack preflop with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} against {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} and failed to get there on a {j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} run out.

Then he missed with {k-}{q-} versus {a-}{j-} to double another short stack. Down to a few chips and a chair he was all in from the big blind against Michael Guzzardi and despite dominating him preflop, they chopped.

He folded his small blind hoping the bubble would burst, then shipped it from the button with {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. The small blind called, but Guzzardi pushed all in from the big blind and he folded.

Guzzardi had {a-Spades}{3-Spades} and it held on the {2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} run out.

With that, just 29 remain and hand-for-hand play has started now on the money bubble.

Meltdown Complete

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Seung Soo Jeon
Seung Soo Jeon

It's all over for start-of-day chip leader Seung Soo Jeon. He got into a heads-up pot after a preflop raise with Daniel Aldridge. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Aldrige led for 24,500.

Jeon called and they both checked the {10-Clubs} turn. The river came the {a-Spades} and after Aldridge checked, Jeon pushed all in. Aldridge tank-called with {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Jeon mucked and walked.

Belov Caught Bluffing

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Day 1a chip leader Daniel Belov bet 30,000 into a 30,000-chip pot on the river with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Czardy Rivera tanked for three minutes contemplating the call, but eventually made it and all Belov could do was smile and lay {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} on the felt.

Rivera had {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the suckers end of the straight, but it was good

Zak Attacked

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

One hand after losing a more than a 100,000-chip pot shoving all in with {q-}{8-} on a {k-}{j-}{10-} board only to be called by {q-}{j-}, Elan Zak got some chips back tangling with chip leader Michael Guzzardi.

Zak called a Guzzardi min-raise preflop and they both checked the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. Zak led out for 8,000 on the {6-Spades} turn and after Guzzardi called the {4-Spades} river was revealed. Zak fired again, making it 12,000 and after a good couple minutes in the tank, Guzzardi called.

"You got an ace, it's good." Guzzardi said, as Zak dropped {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on the felt.

The Meltdown Continues

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Seung Soo Jeon continues to fall apart here in Manila. After Christian Haggart raised to 12,000 and Mike Takayama called, Jeon decided to three-bet to a whopping 42,000.

It folded back to Haggart who promptly shipped it in and after Takayama folded, Jeon went deep into the tank.

He slammed the table, shifted around in his chair for a while and after a good four minutes, found a way to fold, leaving a good percentage of his dwindling stack in the middle.
