Sam Weir Spears Kristensen

The money was all in the middle preflop between Sam Weir and Jens Carl Kristensen and we got there as the cards were revealed:

Weir: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Kristensen: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades} and Kristensen was sent to the rail, leaving Weir with a stack worth 57,800.

Dunst Loses a Pot

The action folded around to Tony 'bond18' Dunst who raised to 800 from the button. The opponent in the big blind called, so it was heads-up to a flop that read {6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}.

The big blind checked, Dunst led out for 1,200 and the big blind called, then checked to Dunst on the turn of the {2-Diamonds}.

Dunst fired out 2,800, the big blind smooth-called again, then the dealer revealed the river of the {7-Diamonds}.

The big blind checked, Dunst led out for 4,250 and the opponent called; Dunst showed down {q-Hearts}{9-Spades} but the big blind player showed {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the straight.

Dunst is down to 36,000 in chips.

Crown Aussie Millions Celebrity Challenge

Before the poker world descended upon Melbourne for the Crown Aussie Millions Poker Championship Main Event (and of course, today's No Limit Hold'em Six Handed Event), the glitterati got their chance to take to the felt in the Celebrity Challenge.

All the stars came out to shine and Lynn Gilmartin was there to catch the action:

'SirWatts' Eliminated

We just saw Mike 'SirWatts' Watson heading to the rail and after some investigationing we discovered that Robert Wang was the perpetrator.

As Wang recalled to us, Watson raised to 1,025 preflop from early position and an opponent in middle position called before Wang reraised to 5,000 from late position.

Watson moved all in for around 10,000 in chips, the other opponent got out of the way and Wang called.

Watson: {a-?}{k-?}
Wang: {a-?}{j-?}

The dealer spread a jack-high flop, pairing Wang's jack and eliminating Watson.

Georgoulas Gone; Englund Reigns

The action folded around to Linus Englund who raised to 1,125 from the cutoff preflop. Nick Georgoulas called from the button, as did the small and big blinds to go four ways into a flop of {3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

All the players checked around before the dealer put the {j-Spades} down for the turn.

The blinds checked, Englund led out for 1,825, Georgoulas raised to 5,000 and the blinds got out of the way.

Englund then reraised 15,000, Georgoulas made it 25,000 to go, Englund shipped it in for another 20,200 and Georgoulas called all in.

Englund: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Georgoulas: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Georgoulas had flopped the flush but Englund had him beat every which way with the full house! The river was a useless {2-Hearts} and the pot was shipped to Englund and Georgoulas was shipped out.

Englund now has more than 92,000 in chips.

Jennis Knew This Time Around

The money was all in on a flop that read {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} between Sammy Youssef and Ian Jennis and we caught the action as the cards were tabled:

Jennis: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Youssef: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The turn of the {j-Diamonds} put Youssef in the lead with the straight over Jennis' middle set, but this time he waited for the river, knowing that he still had hope ...

... and his prayers were answered, with the {10-Spades} on the river to give Jennis the full house!

Jennis is now up to 43,500 while Youssef slips to 25,000 in chips.

Levy Left Out

Grant Levy approached us at the media desk and retold his story of his two-step elimination by Gonzalo Duarte.

Having been as high as 42,000 in chips, Levy got his money in with {k-Spades}{q-Spades} on a flop that read {k-?}{q-?}{7-?}; however Duarte had woken up with pocket aces and called him down.

The turn and river came running sevens to give Duarte the full house and left Levy with just 16,000 in chips, which he got into the middle on the very next hand with {10-?}{10-?} on a board that read {7-?}{8-?}{2-?}{9-?}.

However Duarte tabled {j-?}{10-?} for the nut straight! Levy needed another jack to hit on the river to chop the pot and stay alive, but it bricked, and Levy was eliminated.

Duarte is up to 69,000 in chips.
