Speidel Ballet

We've just had our first player crack the 100k mark and the honours go to Australia's Oliver Speidel!

Despite the few tournament results he's registered (according to The Hendon Mob database), the biggest cash to date was a seventh place in a AUD $1,000 Six Handed Event during the Melbourne Poker Championship in 2008.

It may be a sign of things to come - Speidel is currently on 119,000 in chips!

Lewis Doubles Through 'LOL Donkaments'

The action folded around to John Delassandri who raised to 1,200 from the cutoff. The player on the button called, Toby Lewis reraised to 5,000 from the small blind and a player wearing a 'LOL donkaments' t-shirt (he would not supply his name) four-bet it to 12,500 from the big blind.

Delassandri and the button folded, Lewis shoved all in for another 11,400 and 'LOL donkaments' snap-called.

Lewis: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
'LOL donkaments': {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The dealer spread the board of {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, giving both players a set but Lewis was best, doubling up to 49,900 in chips.

'LOL donkaments' is down to 37,000 in chips.

Nelson Takes a Hit

Ota Hrdina raised to 1,600 preflop and the action folded around to Lee Nelson who reraised all in from the small blind. Hrdina snap-called, tabling {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} against Nelson's {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Hrdina doubled through Nelson, leaving him with around 11,000 in chips.

Joannou Eliminated

2010 Aussie Millions $1,100 H.O.R.S.E champion John Joannou has just been eliminated at the hands of Lenoi Pierre in bizarre circumstances.

Pierre raised to 1,500 from under the gun before the flop and the action folded around to Joannou who reraised to 3,000 from the button.

The blinds folded and Pierre called to go heads-up to a flop of {q-?}{5-?}{j-?}, where Joannou open-shoved for 18,000.

Pierre snap-called and the cards were tabled:

Pierre: {a-?}{q-?}
Joannou: {a-?}{5-?}

Joannou was sent to the rail after the turn and the river bricked - the dealer was so quick we couldn't get all of the stats - but what did catch our attention was that how little Joannou seemed to care.

He just shrugged his shoulders and slumped away. Well, if you've already got one championship ring ...

Incidentally, Pierre is up to 52,000 in chips after that hand.

Brkovic Busto

We've just noticed that the seat of Aleks 'Banana Thief' Brkovic was no longer occupied and as it turns out, it was Tony 'bond18' Dunst that sent him to the rail.

As Dunst recalled to us, an opponent raised in early position to 1,600 preflop. Dunst called, as did another player in late position before Brkovic reraised all in for around 14,000.

Dunst was the only caller and the cards were revealed:

Dunst: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Brkovic: {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The board was spread {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades}, giving Dunst the nut flush and Brkovic the boot.

Dunst moves up to 54,000 after that hand.

Lewis Eliminated

Toby Lewis has just been eliminated at the hands of Michael Spilkin moments before the break.

On a board that read {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades}, Spilkin moved all in on the river from the big blind position and Lewis snap-called - only to muck when Spilkin turned up {q-Spades}{3-Spades} for a pair of threes!

Left with only 500 in chips, Lewis threw it all in on the next hand with {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, only to run into Spilkin's {a-Spades}{k-Spades}.

The board improved neither hand, eliminating Lewis and sending Spilkin's stack up to 77,500 in chips.
