Oppenheim River Win

Level 4 : 2,000/4,000, 300 ante

David Oppenheim opened to 10,500 and Barny Boatman defended his big blind to see a {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop fall.

Boatman checked the {A-Clubs} on the turn, as did Oppenheim to see the {3-Clubs} complete the community cards.

Boatman again checked before Oppenheim tossed in a bet of just 5,000.

Boatman let out a small laugh as he continued to stare at the board and pot before folding.

Bord Surges

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 200 ante
James Bord
James Bord

James Bord opened to 8,000 and Howard Lederer made the call from the big blind as both players checked the {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{K-Clubs} flop.

The turn of the {Q-Hearts} saw Lederer check and Bord fire out a delayed continuation-bet of 10,000.

Lederer responded with a check-raise to 35,000 only to have Bord instantly move all in for 91,600 total.

Lederer sat deliberating for several minutes as he cut out the calling chips from his stack before gazing back at the board while uttering his thoughts out aloud. Bord on the other hand looked rather comfortable as he shuffled a small stack of chips in one hand.

Eventually, Lederer slid his cards towards the muck as Bord happily scooped the pot to move to 145,000 as Lederer slipped to 130,000.

After the hand was over, Lederer stated that he folded a set.

Bord Finds Double

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 200 ante

With the action folding to James Bord in the small blind, he moved all in for over 40,000 to force Patrik Antonius to fold.

The very next hand, Bord tried it again - this time for his 47,400 stack and from the button - as Antonius went deep into the tank considering his options from the small blind.

"I'm all in!" stated Antonius.

"Oh baby this could be sweet!" quipped David Oppenheim as he looked down at his holecards in the big blind before folding.

Bord: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Antonius: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

"I was hoping you had ace-nine. Now I gotta get knocked out with my own hand!" stated Bord.

The {4-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop kept Bord in the lead, but saw Antonius gain three more outs to a straight.

The {6-Hearts} on the turn changed little, and after the {9-Spades} landed on the river, Bord collected the double to move to roughly 100,000 as Antonius was left with roughly 25,000.

Anyone for Chinese?

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 200 ante

Patrik Antonius opened to 6,000 from under the gun to pick up the blinds and antes.

"When we going to get Chinese Poker on Full Tilt Poker?" asked Antonius.

"The only way we would get it is if it would be heads up!" responded Howard Lederer.

"I would play all the time!" added Antonius.

Oppenheim Successfully Battles Antonius

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 200 ante

Patrik Antonius opened the action with a raise to 7,000 only to have David Oppenheim make it 20,000 to go next to act.

Antonius paused for several moments before making the call, and then checking the {5-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} flop over to his opponent Oppenheim.

After roughly ninety seconds, Oppenheim pushed out a bet of 21,000 to force a quick fold from Antonius as he slipped to roughly 65,000 as Oppenheim climbed to 170,000 and change.

Lederer Three-Bets

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 200 ante

Barny Boatman opened to 8,000 from under the gun only to have Howard Lederer three-bet to 28,000 from the big blind.

As Boatman was still stacking his chips from the previous pot, he pushed his cards towards the muck to relinquish the pot.

Broadway for Boatman

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 200 ante

Barny Boatman opened the cutoff to 8,000 only to have James Bord three-bet to 30,000 for his second consecutive hand - this time from the button.

Boatman paused for nearly sixty seconds before moving all in with Bord instantly making the call.

Boatman: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Bord: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

With Boatman all in for his last 67,700, the {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} flop gave Bord the lead with two-pair as Boatman would need a ten or a combination of running cards for trips or two-pair.

Lightning would strike on the turn for Boatman as the {10-Clubs} was delivered, and when the river landed the {6-Diamonds}, Boatman doubled though to 140,000 as Bord was left with just 45,000 in chips.

Three-Bet Time for Bord

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 200 ante

Howard Lederer opened to 8,500 from the cutoff only to have James Bord push out a three-bet amounting to 30,000.

As the table continued discussing the finer details of seeing the penguins at Phillip Island, Lederer tossed his cards to the muck while reminiscing about his encounter with a Koala Bear on a previous visit.
