The table chatter is much more lively in this second heat. It's all being driven by Billy "The Croc" Argyros, who is just yapping away at the table. So into the conversation he is, that he keeps forgetting to show his cards to the hole-card cameras. The dealer keeps letting him know to show them, and they he said "If they stopped giving me alcohol, I'd remember."
James Bord raised it up, and Ivey slid the rest of his paltry stack, only about 3,000 to the center from the button. Bord put in the few chips needed to call, and the two were off to the races; Bord holding , and Ivey with pocket fours.
The flop all but ended things, dropping . The turn and would do nothing for Phil Ivey, ending his evening here in Studio 3 at the Crown Casino.
Phil Ivey made it 2,000 to go and found callers in James Bord and Jonathan Karamalikis.
The flop came down . Bord and Karamalikis checked to Ivey who bet 4,000. Bord then moved all in and Karamalikis got out of the way.
"How much?" Ivey asked. The dealer counted out Bord's stack. It was 8,500 for Ivey to call. After some thought, he tossed in a handful of grey (T1,000) chips, making the call.
Bord tabled pocket fours for a flopped set. Ivey showed for a pair of jacks.
The turn and river brought queens, filling up Bord. He doubled to 21,000, while Ivey was crippled.
We didn't catch how things began, but there was a raise, a three-bet and what we do know is Jonathan "xMONSTERxDONGx" Karamalikis came back with an all-in shove. James Bord quickly made the call, and the two opened up.
Karmalikis was ahead with pocket tens, but was racing against the of the 2010 WSOP Europe Main Event champion. The board bricked out, reading and Karamalikis doubled his 17.5k stack up to a little over 35,000 with the blinds and antes.
Bord on the other hand is our short stack, and has already begun shoving liberally.
Phil Ivey raised to 1,500 and David Benyamine made the call. Benyamine checked the flop, and Ivey bet 2,000. Benyamine came along for the ride, and the two saw the hit on the turn. Benyamine checked again, Ivey bet 5,000 and that ended things.
Ivey is right back to his starting stack of about 25,000.
It's tough with our setup to get chip counts, however we have much better access to the action at the table.
