Trickett Doubles Through Sylvia

Sam Trickett
Sam Trickett

Jens Kyllonen opened to 1,025 from the hijack seat, a player called in the cutoff, Sam Trickett called on the button, and Jesse Sylvia three-bet to 4,100 from the small blind. Only Trickett called.

The flop fell {6-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Spades}, and Sylvia led out for 5,200. Trickett called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs}, Sylvia moved all in for effectively 16,200, and Trickett quickly called.

Sylvia: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Trickett: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The river was the {q-Clubs}, and Trickett secured the double.

After the hand, a player who had previously been at the table asked for a picture with Trickett and Sylvia. Both gentleman were very happy to take a photo with him, even Sylvia who had just lost a sizable pot.

More Chips for Cohen

Sam Cohen
Sam Cohen

Sam Cohen and an opponent took a flop of {10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. The player checked, Cohen tossed out 1,000, and the player called. The turn was the {a-Clubs}, the player checked again, and Cohen fired 1,600. The player check-raised to 4,000, and Cohen tank-called.

The river was the {10-Diamonds}, and the player checked. Cohen fired 3,775, and the player called.

Cohen turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for a full house, and her opponent mucked.

No More Jensen

Jay Tan just knocked out EPT winner and Aussie Millions Main Event runner up Frederik Jensen. Jensen won A$1,100,000 in 2010 when he lost heads up to Tyron Krost, but added a sweet victory in Madrid when he won the EPT for €495,000 last March.

We put together the hand with help from the players at Jensen's former table. Jensen raised under the gun to 900 and Tan three-bet to 2,000. The action was folded back to the Dane who four-bet to 4,200. Tan called and the flop brought out {4-}{6-}{8-}. Tan checked to Jensen who bet 3,800 and Tan moved all in. Jensen snap-called with pocket kings but was up against a set of eights.

No luck on the turn or river for Jensen who had started the hand with around 21,000 chips. Tan meanwhile is up to 48,000 and doing very good. Earlier this Aussie Millions she recorded her first cash on Australian soil when she finished 38th in the $1,100 Six-Max even.

Former Champ Keeps Hopes of a Second Title Alive

An early-position player opened for 1,550 and received a call from the button. A short-stacked Tony Bloom, who won this very event back in 2004, then moved all in from the small blind for 3,250 more. The original raiser isolated by moving all in over the top, the button folded, and the cards were turned on their backs.

Bloom: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Bloom was in a dominating spot, and he only improved his lot as the board ran out an uneventful {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Meanwhile, Norah Greer, who you may recall mixed it up earlier in the day with Antonio Esfandiari, has been eliminated from the tournament.
