Slow Going

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The remaining nine players seem intent on making the final table of eight, at which point play will come to an end for the night. With that said, action is tight and there haven't been any notable pots since the players combined to one table.

Masa Takes More

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Action folded to the small blind where Igor Kurganov sat, and he raised to 15,000. Masa Kagawa made the call out of the big blind, and the flop came down {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Kurganov fired 17,500, and Kagawa called.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds}, and Kurganov slowed down with a check. Kagawa fired 30,000, and Kurganov gave it up.

Yu Finds a Double

Winfred Yu had dwindled to just 31,000 when he raised the pot (25,500) from middle position. Action folded around to Chris Lee in the big blind and he reluctantly put in a three-bet, which prompted Yu to call off his last 5,500.

Lee: {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Yu: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Yu was ahead, and that's exactly where he stayed as the board ran out {6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. With that, Yu doubled and pulled nearly even with Lee.

Robl Takes a Chunk from Kagawa

Masa Kagawa raised to 14,000 from the hijack seat, and Andrew Robl called on the button. Everyone else folded, and the flop came down {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Kagawa bet 15,000, and Robl called.

The turn was the {J-Hearts}, and Kagawa fired 36,000. Robl called.

The river was the {8-Spades}, and Kagawa checked. Robl took his time, and then double-fisted a bet of 141,000. Kagawa took about 45 seconds, but then gave it up.

Heinecker vs, Kurganov

Igor Kurganov opened for 12,500 from middle position and Niklas Heinecker defended from the big blind. The latter proceeded to check-call bets of 12,000 and 28,000 on the {6-Hearts}{A-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop and {9-Clubs} turn respectively, and then he moved all in for around 60,000 on the {9-Clubs} river. Kurganov insta-mucked and Heinecker chipped up to 171,000.

Selbst Takes a Hit

Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

Vanessa Selbst raised to 16,000 from middle position, and Masa Kagawa called from the cutoff seat. After everyone else folded, the dealer ran out the {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop.

On the flop, both players checked to see the {J-Clubs} land on the turn. Selbst bet 16,000, and Kagawa called.

The {J-Spades} paired the board on the river, prompting a check from Selbst. Kagawa bet 35,000, and Selbst tank-called. Kagawa tabled the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trip jacks, and Selbst mucked her hand.

Yu Finds Another Double

A short-stacked Winfred Yu raised the pot (35,000) from under the gun, which left him just 2,000 behind. Action then folded around to Niklas Heinecker on the button and he called, prompting both blinds to fold. Yu then bet his last 2,000 in the dark and Heinecker called so the cards could be turned up.

Heinecker: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Yu: {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Heinecker had the best hand, but not after the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Yu paired his queen to take the lead, which was strengthened when {9-Hearts} turn took away some of Heinecker's outs. The {10-Clubs} ended up blanking on the river and Yu doubled through the German.
