Huge Set-Over-Set Clash Between Mercier and Smith

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Dan Smith and Jason Mercier just got all of the money in on the {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} flop. Mercier had the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for middle set, but he saw the bad news when Smith rolled over the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for top set of kings.

The turn was the {10-Spades}, and the river was the {3-Diamonds}. Mercier finished second best and was forced to send over the chips to Smith. Smith, who was all in for 224,500 on the flop, moved to over 500,000 in chips. Mercier was knocked back to 230,000.

Huge Double for Jacobson; Yan Out

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Just as Jason Mercier and Dan Smith were playing a massive set-over-set hand on the other table, Martin Jacobson was all in with {J-}{J-} against [Removed:17]'s {10-}{10-}. The jacks held up for Jacobson, and he doubled to nearly 600,000 in chips. Yan was left with 100,000, and Jacobson moved into the chip lead.

Yan was eliminated shortly thereafter, and the field was cut down to 10 players.

Smith Beats Schemion

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Ole Schemion in the small blind, and he completed the bet. Instead of checking his option, Dan Smith raised to 16,000 out of the big blind. Schemion called.

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and both players checked to see the {8-Clubs} land on the turn. Schemion led with a bet of 20,000, and Smith called.

The river was the {3-Hearts}, and Schemion led for 38,500. Smith called.

Schemion showed the {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for just ace high. Smith tabled the winner with the {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of eights.

Two All-In Hands, But No Busts

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

There was just an all-in confrontation on each table in the 2014 Aussie Millions AU$25,000 Challenge, but no one busted out.

On one of the hands, Tobias Reinkemeier doubled through Dan Shak. On the other hand, Scott Seiver had the {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} versus Ole Schemion's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}. Schemion was at risk, but the two players chopped the pot after the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} rolled out.

Schemion Out 10th

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The action folded to a short-stacked Ole Schemion, who open-shoved for 57,000 on the button. Dan Smith called out of the small blind, and the action was on Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier in the big blind.

"All in," he said with a furrowed brow.

Smith shot up out of his chair to examine Mercier's stack, but the Team Pro didn't move his hands to allow Smith to examine his chips.

"I have you covered," he said simply.

"Congratulations on that," Smith returned, picking his cards up and dumping them in the muck.

Mercier: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Schemion: {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Mercier's hand held up as the flop, turn, and river came {2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, and Schemion hit the rail in 10th place.

The remaining nine players will redraw to a final table, where one player will walk away empty-handed.
