Chincuini Misfires Thrice

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Matias Chincuini was first to act, and raised to 3,800. The action folded to Wai Kin Yong, who flatted on the button, and both blinds released.

The dealer spread {7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, Chincuini flipped out a single yellow T5,000 chip, and Yong did the same. The turn was the {3-Hearts}, Chincuini led out again - this time for 8,000 - and again Yong called.

The {6-Spades} completed the board, and with around 20,000 behind, Chincuini fired a third and final bullet worth 12,000. Yong went into the tank, thinking for longer than he had on the two previous streets. Finally, he tossed forward enough chips to make the call, prompting Chincuini to show {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for an air ball.

Yong turned over {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of aces, and pulled in the pot.

How'd He Get All Those Chips?

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Dean Schneider
Dean Schneider

Dean Schneider finished as the Day 1b chip leader, and he's kept the ball rolling here on Day 2. He's currently sitting on the big stack, and he was kind enough to tell us how he got some of his chips.

According to him, he opened for 2,500 under the gun and then called when an early-position player three-bet to 6,500. Schneider then check-called a bet of 7,500 on the {q-}{6-}{3-} flop, both players checked the {7-} turn, and a {9-} completed the board on the river.

Schneider decided to lead out for 16,000, but was soon forced into the tank when his opponent raised to 45,000. Schneider thought long and hard before calling with {j-}{j-}, and he was glad he did as his opponent was bluffing with {a-}{k-}.

Clark Gets Value

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Zachary Clark and an opponent checked on a flop of {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, and the turn brought the {6-Hearts}. The player led out for 3,700, Clark made the call, and the {7-Clubs} completed the board.

The player slowed down, checking to Clark who tossed out 3,500. Over two minutes elapsed before the player made a call, and Clark showed {q-Spades}{9-Clubs} for queens and sevens, shipping the pot.

Esfandiari Slips a Bit

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

A very short-stacked player was all in for around 10 big blinds preflop against Antonio Esfandiari moments ago. The player showed {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, but Esfandiari was drawing very live with {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

The player extended his lead when the flop fell {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, and Esfandiari was drawing dead when the turn brought the {10-Hearts}. A meaningless {7-Spades} completed the board, and the player shipped the pot.

Esfandiari is still very healthy with around 230,000 chips.

Flush Over Flush Sets Cosma Back

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ana-Maria Cosma just ran her {8-Spades}{6-Spades} into her opponent's {10-Spades}{7-Spades} on a board of {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}. The river completed the board with the {8-Hearts}, officially ending the hand and knocking Cosma back to about 27,000 in chips.
