Ludemann Loses Some

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jarod Ludemann called a raise out of the small blind from a player in middle position, and checked on a flop of {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}. The player fired out a continuation bet, Ludemann check-raised to 11,500, and the player called.

The turn was a repeat deuce - the {2-Diamonds} - and Ludemann tossed out 9,700. The player quickly called.

Both players knuckled after the {9-Clubs} completed the board, and Ludemann showed {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights. The player tabled {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a wired pair of jacks, and raked in the pot.

Brkic Busts Levy

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Grant Levy was all in and at risk with the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} on the {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop against Srdjan Brkic and the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The turn was the {J-Clubs}, and the river was the {J-Spades}. Brkic's queens held up, and he sent Levy to the rail.

Fare Thee Well O'Rourke

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Liam O'Rourke
Liam O'Rourke

Liam O'Rourke's 2014 Aussie Millions Main Event has come to an end courtesy of Jamie Beer.

In the first of two hands between the duo, O'Rourke rivered a flush holding the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Unfortunately for him Beer had rivered a bigger one with the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

That left O'Rourke on a short stack, and he got it in soon after with the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was up against Beer's {8-}{8-}. The pocket pair held and that was all she wrote for O'Rourke.

Gray's Still Kicking

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jason Gray was all in and at risk preflop for 14,300 holding {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} against an opponent's {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop gave Gray the lead, and he remained ahead as the turn and river bricked {5-Hearts}, {3-Diamonds} respectively.

Gray doubled, and is back up to the starting stack of 30,000.

Christodoulou Can't Crack Kings

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Local legends Aristomenis Stavropoulos and Michael Christodoulou were heads up on a board of {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Stavropoulos check-called a bet of 7,000, and both players checked after the {j-Diamonds} completed the board.

Christodoulou showed {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a bluff, and Stavropoulos took down the pot with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for tens full of aces.

In another hand, Christodoulou was all in and at risk for 26,000 preflop against Jarod Ludemann.

Christodoulou: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Ludemann: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Ludemann's kings held up as the flop, turn, and river came {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}, and Christodoulou hit the rail.

Hinrichsen Pays the Ultimate Toll

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tom "Tollgate" Grigg opened for 3,000 only to have Andrew Hinrichsen three-bet to 7,000. Grigg made the call, the flop came down {j-}{10-}{9-}, and Grigg checked. Hinrichsen bet 10,000, Grigg sprung to life with an all-in check-raise and Hinrichsen called off.

Hinrichsen: {a-}{q-}
Grigg: {k-}{9-}

Hinrichsen was looking to either pair one of his overs or hit his open-ended straight draw, but that didn't happen as a {10-} appeared on the turn followed by a {6-} on the river. Grigg's nines held and he scored the elimination.

Nistas In the Danger Zone

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Jimmy Nistas
Jimmy Nistas

Jimmy Nistas entered the day as one of our leaders, but after losing a series of pots he is captaining a starting stack of 30,000.

On the hand we witnessed, Nistas was faced with a raise to 3,500 from a player in early position. From the small blind, he three-bet to 9,000, and the player called. Both players knuckled on a flop of {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, the turn was the {3-Clubs}, and Nistas checked again.

The player tossed out a single T5,000 chip, Nistas matched it, and the {j-Diamonds} completed the board. Nistas begrudgingly check-called a bet of 12,000, then threw his hands into the air in disgust when the player showed {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a rivered flush.

One for Esfandiari

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

With around 10,000 in the pot and a flop of {j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, Antonio Esfandiari bet 4,300 from the under-the-gun position and Raymond Wu, who was seated to his direct left, folded. It was a pretty boring hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their chip counts.

Mercier Busts Chincuini

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

From middle position, Srdjan Brkic raised to 3,500. Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier made the call on the button, Stephen Mccormick called from the small blind, and then Matias Chincuini moved all in for 13,400 from the big blind. Brkic called the shove, as did Mercier, and then Mccormick folded.

The dealer spread the {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, and Brkic checked. Mercier bet 20,000, and that knocked Brkic out of the way. Mercier showed the {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, and Chincuini showed the {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} to give Mercier an unbeatable flush, and then the river completed the board with the {7-Clubs}. Mercier collected the pot and moved to 155,000 in chips.

"Nice catch," commented Brkic as Mercier stack chis chips.
