Barer Takes from Rubianes

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From under the gun, Vincent Rubianes raised to 38,000. Ami Barer called out of the big blind, and the flop came down {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. After Barer checked, Rubianes bet 55,000. Barer check-raised to 140,000, and Rubianes made the call.

On the turn, the {8-Spades} was added to the board. Barer moved all in and had Rubianes covered. With a little over 300,000 left in chips, Rubianes folded, and Barer won the pot.

McCorkell Check-Raises Barer

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Craig McCorkell and Ami Barer were involved in a hand on the {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. McCorkell was first and checked. Barer bet 24,000, and McCorkell check-raised to 79,000 with roughly 310,000 behind. Barer thought about it, but then folded, and McCorkell won the pot.

John Juanda Eliminated in 23rd Place (AU$40,000)

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
John Juanda - 23rd Place
John Juanda - 23rd Place

After a very interesting three-way all in, John Juanda has been eliminated in 23rd place of the Aussie Millions Main Event.

It started when Andrew Phaedonos opened to 38,000 from under the gun. John Juanda three-bet to 101,000 in the cutoff, Jim Mourafas cold-called on the button, and Phaedonos called as well.

The dealer fanned {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, Phaedonos and Juanda both checked, and Mourafas fired out 206,000. Phaedonos called, Juanda moved all in for 407,000, and Mourafas called, leaving just 130,000 behind. Phaedonos called once again, and thinking Mourafas was also all in, Juanda tabled {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for a pair of aces.

Quickly realizing his mistake Juanda turned his cards back face down, and the turn was dealt - {k-Diamonds}. Phaedonos moved all in for effectively 130,000 into a pot of over 1.5 million chips, and Mourafas tanked for a considerable amount of time before folding.

Phaedonos revealed {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a set of tens, Juanda re-opened his pocket aces, and the {k-Hearts} bricked off on the river.

As Juanda was collecting his things to leave he asked Mourafas what he had, but the Aussie shrugged it off, saying he didn't remember.

Calling it Off With King-Queen

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Ying Kit Chan was first to act, and opened to 35,000. The action folded to Tam Truong, who three-bet to 95,000 out of the small blind, and Chan moved all in for 470,000.

Truong tanked for less than two minutes, then called with {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Chan happily showed {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

The flop fell {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}, giving Truong four outs to make a jack along with his king outs, but the turn and river both produced bricks - {4-Spades} and {6-Spades}. Chan doubled to 960,000 chips, while Truong fell to 1.075 million.

Crivell Gets Caught

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Eoghan O'Dea was first to act on Table 32, and the Irishman raised to 32,000. The action folded to Patrick Crivell, our chip leader, and he three-bet to 75,000. Erik Seidel forfeited his big blind, and the 2011 November Niner responded with a four-bet, making it 125,000 to go.

Crivell tanked for a minute or so before reaching into his stack for chocolate T25,000 chips. He five-bet to what looked like 300,000 or so, O'Dea instantly moved all in for 518,000, and Crivell called.

Crivell: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
O'Dea: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

The window card was the {10-Clubs}, which is about as good as it gets for Crivell's hand in this situation, but it was followed by bricks - the {6-Spades} and {10-Diamonds}. Crivell was drawing dead after the {4-Hearts} turned, and a meaningless {2-Clubs} completed the board.

O'Dea doubled to just under 1.1 million chips, while Crivell is still our leader with 1.72 million.
